He was outstanding, good to see - nfph
I really liked how excited he was after the horn went off too. He's feeling good right now, and for a goaltender, that's huge. |

He's been effective and he looks like he's adjusting quickly to the NHL game.
It looks like he doesn't get up real quickly tho once he goes to the ice. |

Could be his style. He's a pretty big guy, so he covers a lot of the net even when he is down in the butterfly. Or it could be part of making his way back from the hip surgery still. |

We'll know more in the next week or so now that teams have tape to watch. |

i think if they just cleaned up some of the "wildness" and made it simpler the design could work. |

nonsense, he wouldve had a shutout as well as an assist - gerbe42

Well it says 100% cotton and made in the USA but who knows if that's true. |

The best part is they're winning these games while Eichel is (statistically) struggling.
Wait till he really breaks through. |

A lot of band t-shirts say that too, and they fade real quick, and literally come apart at the seams, especially in the armpit. I had three different shirts all bought within a year of each other that that happened to. They're now rags. |

Tight game this week, only 358.5 to 334.5, but a win's a win and I'm still undefeated and that's all that matters. |

Hey all, got married on the 30th and were honeymooning down to Buffalo on the 6th to visit my family and friends an seeing the Canucks game on the 7th. We're throwing the idea around of finishing up in Canada in the Toronto area, anyone have any knowledge of good stuff to see and places to eat in that region? |

The Eaton Centre is pretty cool. If you have to drop a deuce, use the bathroom on the third floor of Sears. It's like you're the first one to use the thing. Although some little old lady came in to clean while I was in there which was kind of funny. I don't know if it's even still there come to think of it.
I'd stay away from the Delta Chelsea hotel. Wasn't impressed at all, especially for the price. The beds were like cardboard, the sheets felt like sandpaper, the room was tiny.
Obviously the Hockey Hall of Fame, just see when the Cup will be there before you go, so there's not a let down, or so you can plan to go when it will be there.
But take the Rainbow Bridge over, because honestly, Clifton Hill is still kind of cool even as an adult and seeing the Falls from the Canadian side is way better than our side. And the Rainbow Bridge will get you to both of those things fairly quickly. Obviously the casinos, but unless you play poker or count cards for blackjack I'd stay away and keep your money. You just got married; you're going to need it! lol
The Ontario Science Centre is awesome. It's not quite right downtown like the HHoF or the Eaton Centre, but it's still in Toronto and only about a 15 minute drive from the Eaton centre. It's been about 20 years since I've been there, but I loved it when I went with my family when I was about 10.
As far as restaurants go I can't really remember any. On Clifton Hill we would just go to Boston Pizza. If East Side Mario's is still a thing up there it's a solid place to eat. And after concerts and events it was always Pizza Pizza or grab a bag of chips or something at the gas station on the way home. But as far as any kind of "good" restaurant I can't help you with that one, sorry.
Edit: Congrats! Also I don't know where you live now, there's an Ikea in Burlington on the way to Toronto. |

Here's my problem with advanced stats in hockey. The number of presumptions piled on top of presumptions without any real checks to ensure reliability lead to completely unreliable data.
We presume that if we get alot of shots, a good number of them will go in. But there's no check to measure whether its a quality shot or just an easy wrister into the goalie's glove.
We presume that if a good number of the shots go in, we will win the game, but there's not check to measure whether the d is any good or not.
We believe that if we limit the number of shots taken against us, then fewer will go in, and we will win.
But - as this article points out - we have great shots for (but no "finish"), and good shots against, but we have a LOOSING RECORD. There's so much more to the game of hocket thnan just shooting, and maybe its all that other stuff - now rather derogatorily described as "the eyeball test" - that dictates as much or more whether a team will actually win. - Der Kaiser

Ya vol her commandant!!
Hockey is so full of unknowns guys putting together formulas using X as an unknown is incredibly naive. It will average out is the favourite saying. Well then consider those stats as averages - guten tag Corsi!
Goals depend on goalies & their ability to stop the puck or not stop the puck. Shots on goal - as above what actually are they? Because a shot is put in the general direction of a goalie is it a legitimate scoring chance? Then on the flip side Dumo threw a puck into the boards that presented Horny a perfect opportunity for a goal against the Leafs - goal! Was Dumos a shot or not?
You can throw 50 or so at Flower & score 3, then score 2 off 4 in another game.
Scoring chances should be accountable due to counting goals from different positions on the ice - then again different goalies different numbers, no game is ever the same.
Each game is it's own sample size, now you analytical guys go eat a burger & deal with that!
I can go on but you guys just won so go celebrate but all this business about shots on goal needs reviewing!!! |

"the goals will come if they continue to control the play and put pucks to the net."
That's a quote from the blog.
How do you know this to be true?
Creating good scoring chances increases your opportunities to score, the more chances the more opportunities. They don't equal goals. |

Not interested in a "hockey theory" argument...but point out where he said "more wild shots at the goalie means they'll score more" |
