a lot, but I would also give credit to Terry Murray and Dave Barr. I really like this coaching staff.

Remember 2 weeks ago when we were wondering why Bylsma was shuffling all the line combos so often?

Guess what, he found out 23 has a great net front presence. He learned that three very young rookies can work together as a pretty scary second (1B line). And he discovered that a converted D-Man can ride winger on our top line and contribute regularly in that spot?!!! not just as an Adam Mair plug in but as a tenacious forechecker who makes things happen for the rest of his line and a respectable finisher who can punctuate the beauties that talent throws his way.

I'm really excited to see where we can take this thing in January and February!!!

Scotty Bowman was notorious for juggling lines throughout his coaching career. It worked for him. Bylsma has a better understanding with what he's got because of it. The coaching experience of Murray and Barr can't be under stated as well. If we can solve the goaltending, who knows. But one thing is certain, they're more entertaining and fun to watch, especially ROR and Eichel. I like where they're at.

I've been to Savannah several times, like it there, neat town. I haven't been out to Tybee but the owner of my company has a place out on the beach there.

Been to Savannah for an NCAA conference a few years ago in Feb and loved it. First time I ever saw a piano bar. The town, lake, were all pretty cool and I could move there.

To be fair, I don't think he will be near 90 points by seasons end, but he's definitely not a guy I expected to play this well

Hes good, but he will calm down, especially when the season gets tighter and teams start to lock down and are more seasoned, he has gone on streaks like this in the past.

Hes solid when he plays an uptempo offence and has good line mates. Roy has been trying to grind it out the past 3 seasons in a "west conf style" of hockey. So I am not shocked to see him light it up

Kaiser, come out and play!

What I did was make a general post, not singling out anyone, saying that many posters were being hypocrites. I made a rational argument explaining why I thought this. People were saying that Kane, ROR and Lehners performances were not to be evaluated or analysed because it was too early to tell and they needed more time. Which is fine. But when the next paragraph says that we won the trades because the players we traded were doing poorly or busts, it seems to me, and I would argue that any intelligent, unbiased person alive would agree, it seems very hypocritical that the players they support need time, but the book is written on the others because they are off to a bad start with their new organisation, they are just terrible and busts. I made other points to further explain why what people were doing was hypocritical.

When I said that the clique of likeminded company line believers on this site rush to attack people with an opposing points or views and back each other and support the collective view like sycophants, again I never singled anyone out, didn't quote anyone's post or name names, and I explained why I felt that way citing examples.

This is quite different from what has happened to me and the few others who come on here to argue a point you all don't want to hear.

When I started posting this year I argued that Tim Murray ruined the rebuild, I gave reasons for why I felt that way. I never quoted anyones posts, never started anything with anyone. At this point I was called a crackhead, a troll, multiple variations of retard/stupid. And when I decided I wasn't going to run away and instead started pointing out how so many of the statements on these boards are illogical and baseless, and how people were being hypocritical with what they were saying, each time explaining why and making an argument to support my contention. Then, at this point people are calling my a lowlife, a Richard, gay insinuations of liking to give bjs, questioning my right to be a fan.

What I did and what other people do is two completely different things. You are accusing me of name calling and implying I am a hypocrite for calling other people out for what is in fact malicious name calling and insults.

When I make a general post making an argument why I believe people are being hypocrites, it is not name calling. It is a descriptive word with meaning that helps me say what I am trying to say. When people directly reply to my posts calling me names among other things with no argument, no point to the post other than to insult me, mock me and call me names, it is two completely different things. i am making an argument saying that what they are posting is unfair and hypocritical, I am attacking their posts. They make no arguments and move right past my posts and arguments and personally attack me calling me all sorts of names and commenting on things that have nothing to do with anything I posted.

So go on, and act like you are so smart, and gang up on the outsider and say that I am doing is the same as what people do to me and others who don't think like you. All because i have a different point of view than you do, and am willing to express it. Isn't that what these boards are supposed to be about? An open forum for debate? I only ask, because it seems that any dissenting view is not welcome. And anyone who fights back after being attacked multiple times is the problem. And pointing out bad takes is considered insulting people and being a troll.

The reason I have been calling out all the unfair, baseless and irrational posts lately is because everyone I see post here that isn't part of the collective is treated exactly how I am, so I realize that it isn't just me, it's the opposing viewpoint. So basically I want to fight against what i perceive to be injustice. I have done so in error at times, I regret every time I post negatively about what Pachla says in his blogs. I did so two times because I felt he was being too much a homer, and that is what I am really fighting against, homerism. But he is probably the classiest guy in cyberspace and even when I went at him with a bit of an attitude he responded like a true gentleman, something we all could learn from.

I have never called you out because I thought you were one of the more respectable posters. But now that you are playing highschool with the rest of them so I will add you to the list.

And I am sorry of I am not bubbly and all smiles with you all on here, but to be honest I have never been treated very kindly on this site, so I dont know why you would expect anything else.

This is all recorded in Michael and Garths blogs. If you think that I am being dishonest or unfair about anything I am saying here, I challenge you to review to posts and make a fair assesment.

Panacea, just a thought: when you present your views on HB, even if you back up your views with evidence, they are still just your thoughts and views. Others have views that will go against "logic", no matter how bullet-proof your case may seem. Facts are facts, like a save % or Corsi #, but everyone can use facts to reach different conclusions, and if you can't accept that then you will be told to

As I said before...not insinuating you like to do that, just saying intolerance is frowned upon, whether you're right or wrong.

btw, Trick R Treat is the best Halloween movie ever (just an opinion).

Granted it's a very good team he's on but it's solid progress from a guy most probably thought would go undrafted had it not been for that 2nd half run.

Honest question.

Is this team not better than the past teams?

Has TM not improved the roster?

What would you have done?

There is a sound behind the game I'm hearing again - it's sound we've heard before but nearly forgotten.

The crowd.

It's back. A team we can feel good about loving again. A passion we don't have to hide, or mix with analysis of statistical probabilities. We know it's good because it makes us shout out loud again and forget ourselves and make that sound.

Let's Go Sabres!!

- Der Kaiser

I'm totally enjoying watching this season so far but the casual fan isn't back on the bandwagon yet. Was at the game tonight and there were a lot of empty seats. The announced attendance was only 15k something. Apparently the draw of a Halloween party was too much for even some season ticket holders. Been to four games so far this year. While the crowd is more into it I still feel something is lacking. By the time the game was over there was about a quarter of the crowd left. The team gathered at center ice to raise their sticks to almost no one. I'm loving what I'm seeing so far and am enjoying watching the team grow but in reality it'll probably be a little while until the arena is rocking again.
