But this isn't about building a competent team, it's about building a Cup contending team. With the limited assets and obvious holes on defense and in net. I'm not so sure the ride is going to ascend to that level as quickly or smoothly as people think

Definitely no interested in it happening quickly, never figured it would. The best part is the bigger growing pains should happen now. Such a turnover in roster occurring now means adding a couple pieces later will make the transition to an annual contender that much easier.

Right, this will be where Murray has to make his bread and butter. He needs to hit on draft picks to help replenish the cupboard. It's what all the GM's of perennial cup contenders do.

I think his question was more related to the tag on Lehner as being "injury prone" (a question I had too but didn't want to look up his history).

How is a guy tagged as such from having 1 prior injury, and then a fluke like this happening? Not diminishing the severity of concussions and that they generally breed more, but to call a guy injury prone is going a bit far if that's all it was (not saying you've done the labeling).

It is improved, but let's be honest. That was happening no matter what.

Adding Eichel, Pysyk (who was purposely held back) Reinhart plays a huge factor.

I just fear we sacrificed a lot of future mobility with the Lehner, Kane deals.

Giving him,Staff, one promising young d man, a few prospects and a pick for ror, Kane, and bogo is awesome, to me.
