Maybe Gibson or a D man, the whole goalie thing is, Murray wants Lehner to be the man so that's why the goalie situation is the way it is for now.

That's a smart idea but I don't think its smart bringing up a guy that hasn't earned it and you shouldn't get favoritism just because he's teammates with the superstar

We don't seem to have anyone that can hang with Eichel. Notice that he doesn't have any assists? It's not because he's not passing, it's because his line mates can't bury their chances.

Huge impact player? No reason to doubt he'll be the best player in the trade?

Again, I hate to rain on your parade. Because I understand that you all do this to make yourself feel better about the team. But when I see people being attacked because they don't share your point of view and how so many of you make baseless assertions and treat them as if they were scripture, I tend to want to point out your poor logic, your unsupportable statements, and your homerism for the crap it is.

Our huge impact player has had one goal and two assists for three points in 7 games and a -5 plus/minus. Myers has had two assists and is -2 in the same amount of games. According to posters on this blog, this shows Myers has been terrible and Kane has been a huge impact player.

I would like to point out Stafford has 3 goals and 5 points and would be our second leading scorer.

No reason to doubt he will be the best player in the trade? Ok I will ignore the stats, I will ignore that it takes longer for defensemen to mature than forwards, I will ignore the fact that every NHL player coming into this organisation for the last ten years has seen their production drop from what it was with a better team. I will ignore that it took Chara who is extremely tall like Myers into his late twenties to become what he was. I will ignore character question. Okay, now I can get on board.

Point is. Many of you want to believe that these trades Murray made were good. After years of being terrible you want to feel good about the team and turn the page. So you buy into the hype, and you will argue to the death with anyone who doesn't feel like you do. You cherry pick the stats you want to look at to support your claims and ignore the others. You make illogical and unknowable assertions and treat them as if they were fact. When someone challenges them and provides data and a logical argument, you ridicule them, call them names, use your stupid emoticons to mock, and then if they hit back you act like they are being the jerk.

Live in your little fairytale and believe what you want. But expect to be called out on your BS when you are less than courteous with others who are thinking for themselves.

Noble diatribe. It's complete horsepoop, but a valiant effort none the less. You can't take points made by separate posters and jumble them together to make your argument. I pointed out Myers lackluster stats, because sbroads has incessantly complained about that trade. Many people, including myself are tired of hearing about it. So, much as you like to state you are going to call people out for things, I did the same.

I never said anything about Kane being the slam dunk best player in the deal. Someone else said that. Using Stafford as part of your argument immediately invalidates it because he was a UFA and regardless of whether or not he was included in that trade, he was not going to be on the Sabres this season.

My friend I agree with you, I like all the moves Murray has made but I don't like the Lehner move.

I was using Stafford to point out that Kane has had less of an impact than a player that you all regard so highly, Stafford.

And I didn't have to use him as part of my argument, all I had to do was say what his stats were to make it apparent that the statement "Kane has been a huge impact player for us" is a bit hyperbolized.

Again I apologize to the original poster I misidentified. I was zoomed in on my phone and didn't see the left margin and made a mistake.

And again, I never said a word about Kane, except to point out that it was a fluky injury.

Reading comprehension really isn't your strong suit is it? I never said anything about Kane being great, an impact player, or the best player from the trade in my original post, or any post thereafter. I've also never said in any of my posts that I didn't mention the trade.

Regardless of how you feel individually about any of the players Murray has acquired, it's still an uneasy feeling that 3 of the 4 big names have already been injured. Not to mention, Lehner, Bogosian, and Kane all had injury issues last year as well.

Injuries always stink. It seems like the ones to Buffalo teams are always to the bigger name players too. The Bills are bottom-5 in man games lost this year, but all the players that have been hurt are the most important ones.

I think I am just getting tired of being a disappointed Buffalo fan...life-long fan that is just tired of spending time and money on a team that consistently horrible. Makes me sad.
