They have played 7 games, alternating starts. Neither goalie has had time to get into a rhythm. Plus Hiller has been awful too, something is up in Calgary.

Plus it if free, Why not do it?

Hiller has less than spectacular stats as well. I know. I have both of them on my dynasty team at the moment.

Tells me the team is front is just as much, if not more, to blame.

But are we so much better defensively that it would be worth our while?

Yeah, he's played in 3 games this year. Focus on the full set of stats, not 3 games of bad stats

That I can't say, but like ImThatGuy said, they've been alternating starts and that's rough on goalies. Goalies need more consistency than that. It's also got to be rough on the defense because each goalie has their own way of doing things (playing the puck, basic tendencies, etc).

Here's my issue with your opinions on things in general these days.

You make snap judgments based on small portions of information. You never really look at the whole picture. Calgary as a whole hasn't been playing well. They're missing one of their top Dmen, and have been since before the season started. I think that probably has something to do with it.

If he's free to get at this point, I'd take it. What's the worst that happens? He's still bad? Fine. Waive him again. Whatever. No harm no foul, IMO

- HonkFortheGoose

I would rather have hiller still a very solid goalie in my eyes and obviously Calgary thinks the same way because they chosen him

and I have been watching Calgary their weak point is goaltending I think they're playing fine I still think they're going to be a contender for the west

Because neither goalie has been given a chance to actually get comfortable back there.

The problem is you're comparing half a season + playoffs + start of this season's body of work with myers to 5 games of kane. One plays on a playoff team, the other on a "turning the corner" team.

Cox conveniently ignores how bad Armia and Lemieux have been as well.

- Sabresfan-365

Armia has been bad, Lemieux had a great camp and has everyone excited for him next year. Not sure how his suspension is playing out in OHL but he has not been bad!! Jack Raslovic is also off to a good start and will probably end up being the player that puts this trade over the top for the Jets when all is said and done

Why can't the trade just be a win-win I don't understand why people have to pick a side

Because in general the "we're all winners" mentality is awful.

Do the Sabres even have a serviceable backup they can insert with any sort of confidence right now?

I think you need to claim him for that very reason alone.

its quite common for a player who thought he had a chance to make the NHL go back to Junior and get off to a slow start. I could care less what he does this year, I saw what he did in camp and pre season and i am definetly excited for his future in winnipeg.

Are expectations high enough that this is a necessity for 2 months? What's the difference in having Lieuwen backing up vs Ramo. 6th last instead of 4th last?

All this talk on giving Ramo a chance to reclaim his form is moot since once Lehner comes back he'll be glued to the bench no matter how well he's playing.

I agree, but it's a bad start. Why is his exempt from criticism but Kane's isn't?

If Ramo plays well for that 2-3 months, we can trade him..... there is always that option.

I would say Kane has more of an excuse especially considering he's coming off season ending major shoulder surgery and is on a new team with players he's never played with before.

But hey...what do I know...

I disagree about Hiller. Watching him in Anaheim was brutal more often than not.

I'm indifferent to them claiming ramo because it's free but i don't think he'll play well enough to be converted into a trade asset. Probably just keep him and waive johnson?

thats the goal, for each team to win, and maybe this trade will work out that way. its too much fun to pick a winner now and also look back at trades years down the road. I hate when people judge trades when the trade doesn't work out for either team, example Did Toronto win the JVR for L. Schenn trade? yes is the easy answer but in reality the trade did nothing to improve these two teams, they have been been just as bad or worse since the trade so really did anyone win? for the record, i did say I think Raslovic will end up winning this trade for the Jets but since that is down the road so I was alluding to judging it then
