Speaking of which, I think think Booner said it best....Sutter is not a pretty hockey player to watch, but, he's been very effective in all situations so far. Have to get used to him looking awkward out there.

He looks like his leg strength is really poor?? But he's getting the job done in every facet of the game.

When I was calling for Sutter to be traded here it was as a third line centre. JB and WD liked him a little more than most people on here and promoted him to second line centre to protect Bo. I could see their angle of thinking.

I did get promoted to the head of the Sutter cheerleading bus as well, when in fact I said bring him in he would be a great third line player.

He has surpassed my expectations and right now is Canucks 3 Rd best forward. I like his game a lot. He reminds me of a Manny Malhotra not a Higgins. I've noticed him every game unlike Higgins where I can go a month wondering where he is.

He was Canucks best player last game. I think as the season goes on he will get a lot better. He is a very smart player with a nice 200 foot game.

I am enjoying his stability

Good to hear, I finally get to watch a game on a real television, hopefully they don't poop the bed, but put on a good show.

I'd like to see JV paste you know who.

Maybe Benning is a lot smarter than Nucker after all?

I'm not so sure, Benning doesn't come across as a corsi, fenwick scholar.

I have cursed JB as well as everyone on here. He is proving us wrong so far. I think next year is his breakout year

Corsi and Fenwick are gay. Two cream puffs that will be gone in 5 years. Hockey is a mans game not a pencil pushers.

Some people seem to forget that hockey isn't baseball, and can't be tracked like it. In baseball, everything can be tracked because everything boils down to 1 batter vs 1 pitcher. In hockey, oftentimes little things happen that can make a player look bad possession-wise even if he had nothing to do with it. A player out of position due to a broken stick, a heavy hit on the boards making someone slow to get back on the back check, a seeing eye pass that gets through a maze of sticks, or a player losing his balance can all affect Corsi/Fenwick numbers and that's just off the top of my head.

I was joking with my post above but one thing I do like about Benning is he goes in the trenches. He just doesn't watch videos or read about it. He goes to the games and watches over and over.

He may be old school but so far so good

There's no substitute for seeing a player up close. Hockey will always be a game of the little things, things that might not show up on a scoresheet but are just as important. Chicago has won three Cups because even if they aren't the heaviest, strongest or even quote "the best team" they are the most complete team and they believe in having depth in every position and everyone knows their role but they also can do other's roles as well.

I wonder if they'd move Kris Russell. We could use a puck mover like that.
Would Hansen get it done?

- Bieksa#3

Can't find a .gif, but did you catch Russell's muffin up the middle breakout pass that lead to Yak's goal?
