Not me have you been following the stud from Sarnia. Another Ekblad . Had a 100 mile slap shot at 15 . Father was an NHL player. We have lots of good centers . Really weak on defense and this kid is great been following his progression since he was in Midget.

You don't know who Matthews is then you would get fired the Second you pass on him

Chychrun is awesome, but i'd still take Matthews at one and then either someone moves to RW (matthews has played there) or you move them but he's just too good to pass up.

I went to see the Sting play the London Knights last year . The kid is a beast and our defense is really weak now.

I know who he is. I think the kid from Sarnia has more upside. Have you watched him play? I have. Matthews is great but I like this kid better especially here on defense. With all the forwards we have.

I don't disagree, but nobody will take him first overall with all the talk around Matthews. TM would probably trade the pick for an NHL d-man or maybe trade down.

Yeah, like the Oilers with McDavid and the Avs with McKinnon. The last thing they needed was another skilled forward, but their hand was forced, because there was no way they'd get fair value for that pick if they opted for the trade route.

Draft rankings change. They have every year . Lets see what they are at the end of the year. I think this kid moves ahead. His shot hitting ability and skating are right up there with NHLers

At the top? Last decade or so the only one i recall drastically changing was 2011.

McDavid
Ekblad
Mackinnon
Yakupov

were all ranked at the top when the year started. I think a lot of it will come down to the WJ's. If Matthews is disappointing then it opens up.

He went to Europe so he would not be subject to CHL transfer rule and he did not want to go the college route. Quit making stuff up.

All those changed throughout the year and Seth Jones was top ranked at his draft and fell to 4. I think Ekblad closed big time on Mcdavid. That was a lot closer than it started.

So I read some comments on that WGR satire article. And wow, did people miss the point. Out of the first ten 5 people thought it was a legit article and that the author was drunk, or just plain stupid. lol

But they all ended the same is what im getting at. I too would prefer a D-man, I just don't think Chychrun takes over no.1 the way they talk about Matthews. Obviously still early days, will be fun to see them head to head.

I get what your saying and agree, but if we were to pick first it's Matthews plain and simple. I like Reinhart but if we draft Matthews he's traded imo an there's where you get your D.

You are way overvaluing him . He will be great . He would not be in the NHL right now. And his reason was to avoid the transfer rule so he could go to the NHL if he wanted.
