Please stop bringing reasoning and logic here. We all know that every single Flyers fan is a heartless goblin who wishes nothing but pain and death upon every non-Philadelphia person on Earth.

hmm. not to stick my nose into a discussion i'm not a part of, but i'm bored and need to get away from people for a spell, so im going to chime in.

i do think i have a decent perspective on the matter, being a pens fan living in philly my whole live and surrounded by these folks.

Right, and I never said you did, all I am saying is that EVERY fanbase has classless fans, Pittsburgh, Dallas, New York, Boston, every single team in the league of every sport has classless fans, and it's not because they are classless fans, its because they are scumbags as people. They are all over the world.

I never said every fan. But you seem to enjoy putting words into my mouth.

Is it not classless to chant at a game about rape? thats what this comes down to.

Also do the flyers fans not have a reputation for doing things that are viewed as classless?

I absolutely know every fan base has bad fans. I'm the first to point out the bad ones for the pens. But it seems to be a common thing with philly to much it go a step further than normal jerk fans being jerk fans.

When you say "Flyers fans" and "some Flyers fans" it generally implies at least a majority. Was it classless? Absolutely. Yes, a small amount of the crowd last night did something classless. I can say in full honesty than no one in the 4 rows above and below me was (to the best of my recollection) chanting. But yeah, I'm classless because I'm a Flyers fan and was there.

Again, please give me, aside from last night and the Letang injury, a few examples of more than 10-12 fans doing something "classless." With all of these countless examples, this should be an easy task for you.

Did anyone see Beau's post game interview?

Something fishy is going on.

He maybe "hurt", but he sure didn't seem like it in his interview.

He was confident and excited, practically giddy.

Hurt in practice maybe, but HCMJ said he was hurt during the game.

That's because you're a lawyer more than a Penguins fan. I wore my Flyers sweatshirt on my trip to Pittsburgh and caught some poop (more or less light-hearted) but, at the game, I heard some pretty vile poop. But I'm sure I'm mistaken because it wasn't in Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh doesn't have any classless fans at all.

It actually might be. But it's just like, after you work out or get a shot like a tetanus, you feel it the next day worse that the day it happens. Except these guys have it happen to a much higher degree and generally have pain tolerances that we can only dream of.

Pens didn't practice yesterday and he was absent at the morning skate this morning. It is bubblewrap Beau after all so who knows how he got hurt? Probably tore something in his wrist turning the key in the car ignition.

that is irrelevant.

i'm only 24 and look like im 19 anyway so people probably just think I'm some young punk in a crosby jersey.

but again. a lot of it depends on the people. actually GOING to flyers games, ones that they arent playing the pens, its still the same story. age is pretty much one of the most dispositive factors.

if theyre under say, 33ish, theyre usually a total (frank)ing douchebag. and class isnt high on that agenda.

but a vast majority of people at games are usually older folks with families. and these people are typically fine. there are definitely horror stories, but a lot of people that catch more than good natured ribbing do unnecessary things to call attention to themselves

I've put rubbing alcohol on inner thigh chafe, at Disney world; don't tell me about pain, hahaha

I just find something fishy about how HCMJ was talking about Beau's "injury"

Absolutely. I've had some horror stories, and a lady who sat 3 rows next to me was a horrible person and a horrible fan. The epitome of the "Philadelphia" fan. The other 20+ people in my row were very nice and didn't like her. And I can't say I've never done something out of line at a game, I definitely have. But when you just say "Flyers fans are classless" it's gonna piss off some Flyers fans because we aren't all like that.

Not going to answer my question on the reputation flyers fans have? I guess I don't have any examples off the top of my head so you may have a point. But we all know its a bit more common in philly. Its a well known thing throughout the NHL that philly has it the most.

i think the average X of whatever set sample youre talking about is usually pretty poopty by definition.

i'm guilty of feeling that your average flyers fan is some negative things. maybe not classless. i think that is a bit harsh. but prioritizing stupid neanderthalic things? sure. go to xfinity during a game night and interact with some folks. youll still get plenty of YEAHHHH MAN WERE THE BULLIES THATS HOW WE DO!

Whereas your more knowledgeable fan will realize that the team isnt constructed that way at all, and has a ton of skill which is to be appreciated.

but people that dont realize the inverse arent seeing the whole picture as well. I'm sure you could go into sports bar X on a game night in pittsburgh, and find throngs of supposed "die hards" that couldnt pick someone like pascal dupuis out on the street, thus propagating the whole oh bandwagon only a fan because of crosby type thing as well.

Wow you're starting to sound like a teenage girl now with how incredibly defensive you are. I never said all! For the 100th time! I also said there are classless fans in Pittsburgh. But not enough to make a chant about rape loud enough to be heard on tv.

I want to burn the Spectrum to the ground, but all teams have giant Dbag fans, like the turds that booed Scuds opening night, I've never hated Pens fans more in my life. I have never seen a more classless act directed towards your own team than what we displayed towards Scuds during that ceremony. It made me want to root for a different team.

Pens fans are not good fans

For a skilled team the Penguins sure do make managing the puck look difficult. The team should be a machine to generate shots. They still try far too much home-run style attempts and don't get either volume shots nor high quality chances. It seems that the majority of the Pens' possession end at the offensive blue line where a low % headman pass fails.

Seriously, look at the first three games. The Penguins D is frequently backed up 50% of the way to the goal line as the opponent gains the zone. The Habs especially were able to drift into the zone and set up nice net drive plays.

This is not a talent problem, it's a fundamental hockey problem.

Philly, yes, but again, that's mostly due to a trickle from Eagles fans.

I'll give you an example: The 4-5 guys who beat up the Rangers fans at Pat's Steaks after the Winter Classic. But again, you hear that and the media is "Classless Flyers fans" while not mentioning the 35,000+ who went to the game without incident.

So is Scuderi benched yet and Clendening up?

See Bennett might be hurt, already... pity, he looked good again this year when healthy.

And apparently we aren't the only high expectation team to be sucking copious amounts of Richard to start the season... maybe relax until 10 games in?
