Also didn't realized the Caps scratched Ovechkin for oversleeping the morning skate the other day

the Rangers wanted to add a high impact defenseman last season without having to trade any core players for their cup run

they never would have traded Hagelin, he was too important to last year's team

this was a quote after the trade was made "“(Saturday) Glen came back to me for a serious offer for Keith, and when he put Duclair’s name in as part of a deal, that got our attention,” Don Maloney said.

I don't believe it could have been done for anyone else, I think the Coyotes would have traded him somewhere else if not for Duclair

The cigar strikes again. Terrible trade then, terrible trade now. Trading talent like Duclair for yet another overrated veteran player. Oh well, life as a Ranger fan.

This stuff is gonna happen when the Rangers come off of losses and players people liked have big games elsewhere.

Never understood why some in here think he is funny.

Hoping Etem gets a chance tonight. Want to see if the early benching motivated him. When he gets a chance would love to see him play so well that they can't take him back out.

Good chance Etem plays tonight.

Back on this Duclair issue, what were the odds he would have made a serious impact in NY, in the next two or three years?

The logjam at wing is strong and I am not sure Duclair would have been playing anything but bottom six minutes.

I don't mind him, we know that he knows his team is a mess and he does't come off with the arrogance that some of the other trolls show

Yea I said this earlier. There really is a log jam at the forward position. I won't judge the trade until we see what happens with Yandle. He could help them win a cup or sign long term.

With his talent who knows, it's been a while since we had a prospect forward with that much talent before he was half way developed, he showed more upside that Step, Kreider, Miller or any other current draft pick on the team did at that age

I think Duc would be playing on Kreider and Stepan's wing. Would allow Hayes to center the 3rd line too.

But I think Duclair will succeed more in Zona than in NY. Him and Domi have some special chemistry and Domi appears to be the real deal.

Reality sucks! Over 50 years of experience talking, I think I've my right to see things as they are. I'm hardly a typical Ranger fan.

Buchnevich, higher ceiling than Duclair. Kid is carrying a poor team on his back and is only 20 years old.

we didn't win the Cup because Zuccarello suffered a brain injury nobody could have predicted, not because of the Yandle trade

The amount of years that you have been rooting for the team doesn't absolve you from the fact you came off like a typical negative Rangers fan with your prior comment.

I think people forget that getting the Coyotes to accept half the Yandle cap hit is probably why it cost so much (Duclair)
- jimbro83

I'd take Duclair and a first round pick over Yandle even if he didn't count against the cap at all

The Yandle trade was a much needed one at that. It costs to acquire top end talent in their prime.

Duclair is a good talent, and I hope he succeeds in the NHL, but I will hardly miss him especially if Yandle is here long term and Buchnevich continues his upward trajectory.

Under what grounds would you assume Duclair jump over Miller and Hayes, on the depth chart?
