Whos going to have a worse year, Kreider or KO? - mdw7413
KO, after he gets traded.
Honestly, I don't know. Okposo scored a nice goal last night, but he looked pretty disinterested otherwise. Some people are higher on him than I am. I'd trade him if the price was right, but Snow would have to do it soon. It would be tough to shake up the team mid-season or at the deadline, unless we end being absolutely terrible. Otherwise, we should just let him walk at the end of the year. Some team is going to pay him $5M-$6M and it's going to be hilarious. It won't be us though. |

That makes all of us.
Kreider just looks like he is not all there. That can be a good thing when he is focused on the task at hand because he is a physical beast when on his game. But when he is not the guy floats around all night without any sort of purpose out there. - MidnightMarauder
Its like he is doing figure 8's out there. |

Nice to have the extra day off in between games this weekend. The team needs to work on a lot and perhaps get some new line combinations in.
Kreider looks terrible out there but the stench goes beyond him. How about Brassard? Can't think of a more ineffective top six forward than he right now. He is doing nothing except taking undisciplined penalties. |

I actually liked Etem's game last night. Finally saw that speed and board work I hear a lot about. Hope he gets more of a chance. |

Those 2 guys couldn't be more alike. I think Kreider probably a little stronger, but both power forwards, both can throw huge hits, both have the ability to score nice goals, yet both disappear and play like they could care less. Its so goddamn frustrating. |

Absolutely, don't want to pick on just Kreider.
Like Jimbo mentioned, its not the injury for Brass. The guy has been a beast in the dot, and thats the 1st place you would see a wrist injury affect someone. |

It's not his injury it's his brain. He's playing a moron right now. |

Yeah thought they had a pretty decent game, the 4th line. Well up until that puck that bounced off Fast for the 1st goal.

He deserved more, especially with how the game was going. AV needs to stop playing favorites each night and play the guys that are playing well |

I know Arneil can't make a player shoot, but he keeps putting the same thing out there. I would love for him to see the door, but it aint happening. |

That's just unacceptable especially when we all know he is capable of producing at a fairly high level. |

Kreider plays to his size. Okposo, while he's not huge has a real strong frame and he just wastes it playing soft as baby sh!t. |

Rangers need to cut down the penalties against. Playing a special teams filled game does not suit this club at all. |

No panic yet, the league is upside down right now.
Teams like Florida, Arizona and San Jose are looking like the class of the league. Montreal does too but that was to be expected as their team defense and goaltender are first rate.
But, I will say this, the Rangers supposed better players are looking quite awful apart from Hank and Zuccarello.
Dan Boyle's play is the drizzling sh!ts, guy is done.
Girardi and Staal's contracts are looking like a serious albatross on the Rangers cap situation(Thanks, Slats).
When half your defense looks less than average I think it's time to give McIlrath a serious chance and maybe even recall Diaz or Skjei. Would anyone be opposed to not seeing Boyle out there ever again? - MidnightMarauder
In fairness to slats I remember you guys being quite happy when those two signed those deals no? |

Not so far this year, I would be shocked if he is credited with a hit through 5 games. |

yes, really nothing negative at all to say when the deals were signed.
this was before the Yandle trade though |

Not across the board. I liked the Staal deal more than the Girardi deal. Girardi's been a relative slide ever since the Finals in 2014.
All those years of wear and tear are resulting in especially average play out of him. Staal, on the other hand, while not spectacular is definitely an above average defenseman still. I don't see that out of Girardi anymore. He looks painfully slow and is caught out of position because of it.
Scary enough, he isn't the worst defensemen on the team right now. |

Im not as down on G as most. The last few years he has looked like he never played defense at the start of each season. I will give him another week or two.
Staal has been fine. |

Losing Stralman, at an affordable rate, didn't help the cause much either. |

Staal hasn't bothered me at all. It's Girardi and Boyle that are looking like trash. |

Yeah Boyle has showed me nothing that says his play will get better. I'm holding onto the fact of Girardis slow starts from previous seasons. |

Look at that sentence; how horrible does that look right now? Essentially, it was more about Staal than Stralman. If they retained Stralman they would have been forced to move Staal or lose him last summer.
