I'd give them Sanheim. Honestly I believe trouba Is a top 2 with edge. Seabrook comparison. Prospects are unknowns. At some point we can't just wait and wait for rookie d prospects. He said a number 1 you can't trade for. Doesn't mean you ccan't trade for a really good young player. I don't believe hextall will wait 5 6 7 years to be a contender I just dont. Patience is one thing but a 7-10 year plan is reserved for the sixers.

But also I didn't say trade them all. I think in the grand scheme of things 1 or 2 top tier prospects goes. But 75% stay. He continues to acquire more.

I think it makes him more valuable to keep. I don't see a logjam at right wing, at least not right now. I'm not refuting Simmonds value in a trade. If the Flyers offered him up, there'd be a lot of teams in line.

We both know trade rumor infrequently lead to anything. I'm just speculating what forward would be dangled in trade talks, that offers very good value to another team. I'm not even going to speculate who the Flyers could get for Simmonds. I would assume the profile of a winger who could be similar to a Voracek with his ability to carry the puck and either shoot or pass. It doesn't make sense to trade Wayne Simmonds for another Simmonds type winger.

Forwards for dmen trades have happened a lot. Could Simmonds be a good fit in Anaheim as an example? (I have not read of such rumor- just throwing it out there). However, I do believe in the event Simmonds is moved, there is virtually no chance B. Schenn isn't signed to some type of bridge contract.

If Hextall believes the Flyers are 5,6,7 years away, then he should have a fire sale, including putting Giroux and Voracek on the table for a kings ransom and putting his team in play for the top pick. I don't think upper management would approve though.

If the Flyers could get a skilled fast winger that was younger, or a good young defenseman for Simmonds, I would think about it. My only fear is that the Flyers get softer.

Anyway, not sure why the conversation always drifts towards trade talk. I know Ek's blog was the trigger here, but the season just started.

If we're going to wait for provorov Sanheim gost hagg and Morin to develop into impact defenders that can compete against the games best to lead us to a cup than yes you will be waiting 5 years. That's why I think you see 1 or 2 moved for young nhl players who ccan be a part the now and the future. Like you always say not all prospects will be who we want them to be. I'm not advocating trades for 30 year Olds I'm talking about 20 21 year Olds who are already good nhl players

I agree with the time span. That's the Flyers biggest issue. How do they bridge the time gap from forwards that are ready to win now, with the future window of the defense. I have no doubts that the young defenseman will begin to filter up to the Flyers possibly as soon as later this season, but until they're ready to carry the team, it's going to be a while.

Well there 2-1-1 and obviously can't score 5 on 5. Plus, Bob McKenzie called them not a real threat to get into the playoffs or do much of anything at intermission last night. Might as start the fire sale, early.

I don't expect a trade in the near future. Especially not with 3 out of 4 games played very welL. I just expect at some point the Flyers will deal a top tier prospect for a young nhl player. An impact trade. I don't think that's ludicrous

This color guy for the Caps is brutal. "Panarin. The Bread man. ... I call him that because of Panara Bread! ...The bread place."

That was followed by 10 seconds of silence in the booth.

Why the (frank) would the jets who are a few years ahead of the flyers in terms of development give up their best future dman.

I don't think they would, unless they were blown away. That's what I can't figure out. Where's the fit between the Jets and the Flyers?

Again: The Jets could very easily have been looking at the Blackhawks. Bowman and Chevaldayoff have done deals before, big ones

It truly wouldn't surprise me if they try to buy low in Bickell; they have Burmistrov playing 3LW. If Bickell has anything left, that is a perfect slot for him on the Jets

That also gives you some Ladd insurance if he walks

It's going to be a lot of fun when Konency makes the big club. I just hope he can stay healthy, what a skill set.
