Buff would be crazy to sign for 4 years when Seabrook just got 8. They're the same age.
- Feanor

Mike Green is a 1985, too, and he just signed for 3-years, didn't he?

Their payroll overall is pretty balanced, tho, and they have a massive wave of HQ kids coming in on ELC's that will provide tremendous value for dollar, and probably allow them to part with some higher-priced vets.

If I were Chevy, I'd keep Buff if I can get him to sign for under 4-years. He's too unique to replace. There's other places they could belt-tighten if their internal budget starts to strain.

You know, it's interesting that you say that. Because with the market contraction that we saw last summer, I kinda wonder if any GM goes more than four years on Byfuglien.

Kinda wonder if his market isn't gonna be what he thinks it is, if he goes FA

I think he has an impressive set of physical skills, but I won't lie: I don't mind risk, and even I am kinda terrified of what a 32-year-old Dustin Byfuglien could look like with another four years guaranteed on his contract

They did and a couple idiots took it even further, parading around MSG in Flyers #31 jerseys with "Dead" on the nameplate rather than Lindbergh.

Wow. I had no idea about this. I'm surprised they were allowed inside the building wearing those. Despicable.

Green was a 5th in D ice time in Washington last year. Buff was 1st in Winnipeg so I think he's closer in stature to Seabrook than Green.

And teams like Florida will have tons of cap space this summer.

So what's the conjecture on the Umberger injury, that's serious?

That's one season of usage tho -- not sure you can ignore that he was pretty much a #1 dman going back some 6-7 years.

Not sure Seabrook's the best comparable either, since most GM's would probably tell you that Byfuglien is closer to the Mike Green end of the spectrum than the Seabrook end.

Having Trouba and Morrissey really makes it a lot easier for them to walk away if the #'s/years get out of hand, that's for sure.

But like I said before, the guy's unique. Whether he's fat, uninterested, or whatever, he's still almost always making an impact for them. So hard to replace.

out. now.

i actually just watched the original trilogy a couple of weekends ago for the first time in ages.

then a strange thought occurred to me when it was over: where do they go to the bathroom? i imagined luke taking a dump. there have to be bathrooms on the death star, right? what kind of toilet paper does it have?

- hammarby31

My 3 year old just started his obsession with Star Wars. We've now watched all 3 (there are no other Star Wars movies) about a bazillion times in the last month. I think about so much minutia at this point that the plot takes a backseat.

Gagner AND Umberger.

I love it. I ripped Gagner this preseason bc be looked like garbage -- offensively not just other stuff -- but I always maintained his potential risk reward was too great to not play him. Now I want him with Coots again. Get Simmer the heck away from that line.

As for Gagner's wife, kudos to him. But black lipstick is a no no unless you're starring in the movie The Crow.

Judging by the horrible shirt and tie he's wearing, let's hope they're going to a halloween party.

True true. But a bedazzled dress shirt and black lipstick?....those are not even costumes! Unless it's a bad fashion sense Halloween party...he may need to be scratched again. Vinny wouldn't be caught dead in that.

Your level of fanatical bias for Gagner is boarding on a certain poster's AMac infatuation. Be mindful before you slip into the abyss

Besides the obvious, Byfuglien, which I really hope is not the target, who might the Flyers be interested in, on Winnipeg?

Myers? I have little interest in Big Buff, especially if it results in Simmonds being dealt
