HCMJ needs to forget his "pairs" and shuffle these lines to try and ignite some guys. I'd go

Sprong(trial basis)-Crosby-Hornqvist
Perron- Malkin-Kessel
Plotkinov-Bonino-Bennett
Kunitz- Cullen- Farnham (chirp me all you want metric boys, but he brings speed and energy, Porter brings nothing.)

We've finally got all the metric geeks wish, Team Fancy stats. And we are falling flat on our face. We've got no identity.. We're not fast, we're not physical... But I guess on paper we have more shot attempts than the other team. I'm not saying fancy stats are completely useless, but this is what happens when you go out and put a team together completely based on metics and not...wait for it... Intangibles.

Except that our depth hasn't been the problem. Our third line has been the best line for a game and a half and Sprong actually does things on the fourth line. When was the last time a Penguins' forth line had legit scoring chances? Although I do agree with you that Porter is a wast of space but instead of Farnham I want Sundqvist or someone like that from WBS. its the poor play by the top 6 that's sinking us

I don't think sending a 6/7 defenseman is the "hard" message you need. You want to send a hard message? Ship out a top-6 player (Perron).

But, seriously, it's 3 games. There's no need to be rash and/or declare that the sky has fallen.

I disagree. Scuderi and Kunitz are the epitome of the "entitled to a roster spot" mentality. You send one of them packing and take the other off the first line and I think it sends a huge message.

I have been far less rash than a lot of people on these boards but I'm starting to get legitimately scared. I get not playing well against the Coyotes during their home opener, but to play this poorly after going down 0-2 to start the season at or home opener against a good team is pretty unacceptable and MJ isn't giving me much confidence.

You guys will be fine, if only to infuriate the uneducated Flyers' fan base.

I don't understand the Kunitz hate, I thought he has looked strong in these first 3.

He's definitely slower than he used to be. I noticed a couple of times where he was clearly beaten to the puck where in the past he wins that race. He's not terrible, but I don't think he's a first line player anymore. If he didn't have such a crappy 2nd half I'd give him more slack.

Like I said last night, if Sid and Geno continue to play like this, nothing else matters.

Absolutely. Your 2 best players have to be your 2 best players.

So anaheim lost to Arizona and has yet to win. Oh and our favorites flyers won over Chicago 3-0. Chicago is done. trade toews and send Kane to jail. Trade Perry and let getzlaf take sids hortons gig. Sky is falling 3 games in. right? RIGHT?!!
