Anybody that poops on the legacy that Ed Snider has created in this city is an idiot.
And old timers can spare me their Jerry Wolman stories. I know that bit.
Ed Snider is the best sports owner this town has ever seen, both on and off the field of play. And it's really not even close. - johndewar
I think Snider has been a great owner. I will never compain about an owner wanting to win and having no issue spending money. Yes in a cap age that needs to be held in check a bit but you have to love an owner who has no issue eating mistakes. Plus what he has done with the Ed Snider Youth Foundation and the city rinks is amazing. I was a volunteer coach from season 1 up until last year and have seen first hand what a great job it has done
The one I heard was Simmonds, 2014 1st, 2015 1st. Hextall wanted the 2015 lottery protected and Florida said no. So it would have been Simmonds, Sanheim, and Provorv. - jmatchett383
Except with Ekblad we probably don't pick at 7. With how good 2015 class was it would have definitely been an impact player though. I like games like this :D
i know your making fun off figure skating, but trust me if you want to become a better hockey skater take a few figure skating classes. The deal i made with my mom was to take figure skating along with hockey in elementary school. Poor kid..

My future step mothers daughters are professional figure skaters and one made the Olympics true story.
But the teenage mutant ninja turtle adds excellent flare

But do we still trade Coburn and kimmo And than trade up for a guy like barzal for instance ? Or still grab konecky and than sprong?
Do we instead of dealing Coburn cause we were in the playoff hunt trade a depth guy ?
Do we ever resign Macdonald?
Do we not resign Macdonald keep Coburn and than sign a big money forward instead?
Your right, you don't need a number 1 to win, you need a hall of fame calibre number 1 defenseman to win a Stanley cup. Only 5 of the last 21 Stanley cup teams did not have a hall of fame level number 1 defensemen. A hall of fame center might be the only thing you need more. - psuhockey
i request you amend this list to begin in 1996. thank you.

agree completely. the only real knock on him in my view that holds any water is perhaps keeping too many former players in the front office/coaching staff and not being patient enough at times.
i admire his passion, desire to win and doing what he thought was right in order to achieve that. i also admire his loyalty, even if it's been part of the problem.

The CF% is less of an issue for me in such a small sample than the fact Hakstol is giving him 70% OZ starts. Even if that dropped to 60% over time that would be a huge number for a supposed top 6 dman. If Manning is going to be the most sheltered player on the Flyers he should not be an everyday player. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm worried the Manning experiment might be a new coach trying to show how clever he is. - Feanor
They're both a problem to me if they continue. His o zone starts are better used for Medvedev and Streit. But you can't get obliterated while seeing such usage. To be sheltered and do well shows a player has flaws but use. Manning doesn't have a track record really to go off of, so we shall see. That pairing right now is essentially MDZ-WorseMDZ in style and ability. Luke and MDZ are a good compliment though, and had very good possession numbers last year. I hope Hakstol comes around.

Eh, we'll see how the numbers shake out in a few weeks. That 2nd-game was nothing but statistical noise. - Tomahawk
They did worse stats wise in the 5v5 possession game against the Lightning than the Panthers actually. But I did put like 17 warnings in my posts about small sample and don't read too much into these yet haha. Just mulling over stuff, no conclusions!
