he hasn't been a full-time nhl'er because of the morass that has been the team the last two years and he was one of the few that didn't need to clear waivers
- Michael Pachla

I get it, but regardless we haven't seen enough of him IMO.

It's like calling Johan Larsson a cornerstone player

.@BuffaloSabres We can't watch it enough. We're already getting used to seeing Jack Eichel in #SCtop10.

Originally I said that I wanted them to send McCabe back to Rochester, but after watching today and how him and Pysyk looked together, I kinda think maybe he should stay here.

I hate being so indecisive!

I think McCabe stays and Reinhart goes back. With the right minutes I think McCabe can have a good rookie year here.

Reinhart...as much as i still think he's gonna be really good...needs to be honing his skills in Rochester

I've always said that I think he could play here this year and be fine. I just thought that going to Rochester and being "the guy" would be better for his development overall. But at the same time, if you can keep him here and really develop some good chemistry between him and Pysyk, it might be better for the team. I don't think either route hurts him at all though.

The thing I liked best about the Eichel goal was not his long, powerful, skating slides and shooting accuracy (things I already knew), but how he already has an NHL body at 18. He knocked Jenner off that puck rather easily. I guess I just never noticed it that much in the few times that I saw him.

Something Reinhart needs to work on.

Reinhart had his good and bad moments today. We just need to remind ourselves that even though both were 2nd overall picks, Eichel is a generational talent. Reinhart will be very good, it's just going to take him longer to make an impact.

Agreed. As much as I would like to see Reinhart up with the Sabres to get experience and play through it, I wouldn't mine if they sent him down to Rochester this year.

Not sure what his good moments were. He was so bad on the first two power plays that they took him off and...then we scored power play goals.

23 and McCabe need to go down and be great consistently. Bogosian takes the spot anyway when he's healthy.

playing 8 minutes a night with mccormick and deslauriers isn't really playing through it

On a positive note, Reinhart did a good job screening Bob on Risto's goal.

I think he either needs capable line mates or to go down to Roc.
We can't "grigorenko" this kid.
Nothing against D-low and McGinn (was it?) but he needs to play with people like Girgensons and Moulson or something….and they're already on another line.

He's not playing with McCormick

Playing him on the 4th line for a bit isn't really as bad as people think. Deslauriers isn't exactly a slouch offensively and it's allowing him to still play and adjust to the speed of the game more. That's something he's not going to learn in Rochester. Whether he's there for this year or more. The game is slower there. However, he does need to move up the ranks if they're going to keep him here. He shouldn't be on the 4th line for more than 10-15 games. If he's going to be, it's best to send him down then.

EDIT: And he didn't have 8 minutes. He was just under 10.

I agree. That snipe was filthy, but I was more impressed with his puck pursuit and strength.
