Totally agree. Now, if Saturday night's beatdown becomes a regular feature of Flyers games, then, yeah. Ok. Fine.

But so far (massive sample size!!!), they're last years team again. Can't win on the road. Look decent one game, terrible the next.

Exactly -- others have said it, I've said it, because it's the truth: Those of us who are hoping/saying they're a bubble playoff team are hoping for improvement from within, because basically, it's the same roster, maybe a tad more mobile minus Grossmann and with Read and Umberger healthier

If they don't get internal improvement, then yeah, they're going to finish around 82 points, give or take a few. We all get it

But you don't trade anyone that you weren't trading before Saturday, and you haven't given anyone a chance for internal improvement after two games. I'll move anybody off the roster not named Giroux or Voracek or Mason, and, again, even I know that this season is one where you hope for the playoffs but need to evaluate what you have in a couple of spots

Last 2 times I've almost got into a physical fight have been over people using that at/after Flyers' games.

For two years they haven't been able to put the puck in the net with any frequency and now they can't defend. Sound somewhat familiar?

I was best sarcastic, but two seasons ago they won the Presidents Trophy. Last season they choked their way out of a playoff spot, but barely missed. This is the first year they're a complete tornado of poop. That's what a (mostly) nightmare offseason by a GM does, mixed in with expected injuries to declining vets. I don't care about any of this except for how Hextall can trade Streit for their first. Voile two top 10 picks

Because I'm a bad person (and I should feel bad), I fervently hope that Jack Eichel turns out to be the superior player when compared to McDavid. Why? Canadian Hockey Chauvinism infuriates me, thats why. That, and... I'm a bad person and I wish for things like this.

Well... it wouldn't be the first time Chiarelli gave up entirely too soon on a young prospect. What was the return Eriksson and 3 prospects ? And peverley was included. So in the spirit of today's discussion simmonds hagg Nak and lindblom for McDavid and Hendricks?

That's OK. There was so much confusion earlier, I'm pretty sure one of us had Jaroslav Modry in the lineup for tonight.

Are the nhl refs trying to set a record for most penalties in a season? It's been 10+ penalties per game for every box score I've read. I'd actually love to know if there has ever been this many calls this early. Teams getting 6 7 8 power plays is just boring.

I'm not gonna be so quick to judge a young player with such high expectations but he was projected to better than Crosby. This very well might mean that NO PLAYER can save the Edmonton Oilers.
