To me, the guy we go after is Nik Backstrom off the Wild. That's a veteran goalie who can steal you some games. This is his last year of his contract, which I believe comes in at under 3.5. The Wild are set with Dubnyk and Kuemper, meaning a 3rd or 4th rounder should get this deal done. Also, I trust Backstrom much more than I do Hiller. There was a time when Backstrom was among the league leaders. Injuries have held him back, but he appears to be healthy and in line for a revival season. He won his only preseason start via shutout. What say you? |

he may steal a game or two.. and then be on the IR next to Lehner.
but if you can get him for a late pick it is worth a shot. i have a feeling they just want to get rid of him at this point |

I'd put Stafford well over Flutie or Reich.
Stafford has had a 5000 yard season and a few 4000 yard ones.
He's been top 5 in passing. Flutie was never higher than 11th or something like that - sbroads24
Wins matter
Also you cant base statistics from this era...If you pulled Kelly's stats he would be in the bottom 3rd of the league as its a pass happy league. |

Which is why I stated relative to his competitors Stafford had been top 5 among his peers. Flutie was never close.
Also, Flutie and Stafford have had equal success in the postseason. Basically none |

Can I ask why?
How can you trust a guy that's injured all the time? Not to mention Hiller is 4 years younger and you have to go back 4 seasons to find when Backtrom had a better save percentage even though Hiller has a better GAA that year...makes no sense |

Hiller has had his fair share of injuries as well. Let's not forget about the year he dealt with vertigo and was a complete mess. |

Had Flutie played against instead of Johnson we would have something to judge him on... |

I'd rather get Ramo. According to reports, Ramo would cost less and he's younger. It would create a nice healthy competition for Lehner for awhile too when he comes back which could be a good thing. |

They want more for Ramo then Hiller and from what I was told, they want Lehner to be the starter so why move for Hiller? that would mean Hiller rides the bench when Lehner get's back. Murray is waitng for more info on Lehner's ankle to see if it will repsond after 10 weeks max so things may change. |

He has a high ankle sprain. More than likely, even after 10 weeks, it's still going to be an issue. He'll be able to play, but I'm sure it's going to hamper him for quite some time if not the rest of the season. Having a guy that can take some of the pressure off wouldn't be a bad thing. |

I'd rather have a combo of Lehner/Hiller then Lehner/Johnson.
Hiller would also have some value closer to the deadline. There's always a fringe team in search of goaltending come that time. |

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lehner out passed January 1.
If reports are he was that out of game shape this is only going to make it worse.
You have 10 weeks to heal and then another 2-3 weeks to get back into game shape. |

It would have been better off if he broke it honestly. |
