Yes he thinks he is. You're better off judging by the few times I've seen him "engaging" with his readers.
- Cptmjl

The only time I've seen him "engage" was when he taunted people to play the capgeek roster game. What a fun guy. What's the point of writing for an audience if you don't respect them?

I believe that about 4-5 replies on each blog are direct responses to his stuff; the rest - it's just a message board for people to vent and whatnot. But RW can keep riding his stallion.

Good grief.....bunch of Debbie downers in here. Sky isn't falling.....yet.

It's not the coach. It's the team only playing hard for 1 period. We will turn it around.......at least I hope so.....weekend after next I'm driving 6.5 hours to see them play in nashville.

And what was the problem last year? Injuries?? Ok, so far we have no injuries - same results. Coach MUST fire the team up when they are slacking. It's one of the functions of the coach. You don't see the results you want, then you find a way to get results!

He's just another hockey blogger on hockeybuzz who thinks he knows better than everyone else. As well all know this is laughable but it seems to be a symptom of quite a few that write on here. Let them have their fun it very well may be the little they have in their lives. Posters are what make the threads interesting not the blogs for the most part IMO. There are some knowledgeable fans mixed in with the flotsam and jetsam.

There are some exceptions of course(Jan Levine comes to mind)but for the most part it's either some Corsi geek who thinks he knows better than everyone else or someone who seems to have little knowledge of the sport at all.

A couple of other things...

Anybody else notice the "free hand" penalty is a thing of the past. I mean, last night the yotes just reached out and grabbed any player that was able to get loose.

Also... Finally found an arena with worse ice than Consol.

- madmike71

The Pens broadcast showed about 5 plays during the 3rd period that were pretty clear cut infractions by ARI, and a couple were of the "free hand" variety. Of course, we're all just a product of the media we consume, so who knows what they didn't show us that went the other way. What they did show seemed pretty clear though.

It appears the Pens have not made, and will continue to not make, any friends with the officials. They keep yelling at the refs about calls and telling them how to call the game (Letang on the 1st ARI goal, Crosby being held on a 1-on-1 in the 3rd), that's not a wise short term or long term strategy for building a relationship with the refs. The no-offsides call on the the first ARI goal could have reasonably gone the other way (Cole didn't seem to really have possession of the puck nor "pass" it, the two requirements to negate offsides), and there certainly wasn't a quick whistle on the 2nd ARI goal... based on where the puck was, I find it hard to believe the ref didn't lose sight of it. Plus plenty of non calls in the 3rd. I mention these not to complain, the Pens generally get what they deserve. And since they are often female doging to the refs, the refs are not giving them any benefit of the doubt on these things.

I'm not on the FireMJ bandwagon, but it does make me wonder if a batpoop crazy coach like torts would make the players shut up and let the coach do the yelling at the refs. Refs might even feel a little pity for the players, heh.

Have the Pens thrown a check this season?

“Dey soff”, as to reiterate what Thierren once said. Anyone think HCMJ would make similar comments (publicly)? Right.

There is greater parity in the league in terms of skill, speed, team strength, playing style, etc… maybe the margin of separation isn’t as great as we once thought it was. Teams are getting bigger, younger, and faster and IMO, the Pens need an injection of all three. On average, the team is 4th oldest, and ranks near the bottom in terms of height and weight. DAL has decent size, and is a fast team; AZ has size and some youthful speed. Teams w/ size and/or speed will continue to give Pgh trouble at both ends of the rink. Add-in HCMJ’s perimeter game and the results are pedestrian. What I don't get, is how he expects skill to return positive results w/out venturing to the middle of the ice.

Dropping points early in the season can be taboo, but it’s only been 2 games (too early for panic). However, by the time Thanksgiving rolls around, we’ll see how things are going for this team. Historically, if a team is more than two points out of the playoffs at this point of the season, their chances of making the playoffs are just over 10 percent.

My biggest gripe against this team, even going back to last season, is their inconsistent play/ lack of effort for a full 60 minutes. I get it – they’re not going to win 82 games (by 4 or 5 goal margin), but if they lose a game while putting everything on the line, then, as a fan, I can handle that. Playing in spurts, or coasting through parts of the game doesn’t endure the team to its fan-base – it frustrates them.

Blackhawks seeking defenseman via trade

http://www.chicagotribune...trade-20151010-story.html

Any suggestions, as far someone (w/ a NTC) who fits the description?

Not that I think this would ever happen, but I have to believe CHI is waivable. With cap constraints, however, it would most certainly have to be a multi-player deal.

I find only putting up one against the stars way more concerning than getting blanked by the stars... I hope that we can get home and get something to click in Consol cus right now we're not looking to hot...

Also, I think talking about players' Corsi for individual games is a large waste of time. The sample size is too. I mean, just look at Crosby's numbers from this past game. It's far more productive to talk about specific plays when talking about individual games.

- Victoro311

You don't understand my man, each game is it's own sample size. Sample size is used when all conditions & the environment are the same. Just because it's the same game doesn't mean each game is the same.

If you are formulating data from more than 1 game it becomes an average result. Averages give you little detail especially if you are talking a dynamic subject.

I didn't realize we had so many extreme sports enthusiasts amongst us.

Step back from the edge, we knew this team has its short comings, we also knew the officials are not going to stop the infractions that slow down skill players.

So breathe and see how it looks in 5 game groupings.

We would like to see more effort and puck support. The lack of effort and helping each other win puck battles is disconcerting at this point.

You can yell and scream all you like about Scuderi!!! (He was decent last night.. NOT GOOD OR GREAT!!!!!) Bottom line is this team cant score goals... Look at the last 20 games of 14-15... the playoffs and these 2 games... TIOPS article (posted earlier) is spot on regarding this coach, system and organization as a whole. (PLease as a pens fan let me be wrong!!!!)

And peeps wonder why he doesn't comment anymore?

Every second post is "lol corsi" and calling him an idiot for making blogs with possession stats in them. What is the point in engaging with that? If people had constructive criticism I have no doubt he'd address it.

ofcourse but things like that happen to all teams at times. it is something we need to fix sure but all teams have things they need to fix coaching wise or personel wise. we ain't the only ones having problems like this. tired of people going around blaming the team and coach for 2 not THAT bad games and our luck to meet hot tenders. I mean sure the team ESPECIALLY crosby looked really disinterested but so did quick and kopitar for kings and alot of people made mistakes for columbus and new york. 80% of the things we do is whine about the team and 15% about getting better and 5% what is good which is almost never. so many only look at the bad and not the good so freaking annoying. also 100% scuderi sucks which he does.

There's a few teams with bad starts this season, & even more the last few seasons. It's what happens in the end that counts not the start. Give the organisation the chance to set this team up in both offence & defence before throwing the coach & players to the wolves.

Over the last couple of seasons everyone has basically said Sid & Geno can't play together for various reasons, so MJ is trying something different on the PP. Let it works itself out either way, he did change it yesterday so there is a sign he's paying attention to this blog.

Does the team need to work harder? Yes it does. They may have just been reading all the headlines & believing their own press, well hopefully now after being put to the sword by the Austin Matthews favourite they get it together.

I'm starting to believe that it's our attack that makes these goalies look good but how can that be changed? Niemi went back to being Niemi straight after our game????

I hope Dinger gets a look next game over Lovejob (we all know it won't be Scuds), & DTM getting more than 8 minutes with a look in the top 6.

Unlike Disco... will this coach stick to a system that is not working or will the Pens make changes? If no I think your right! Gone by thanksgiving.... This team as not looked right since January of last season!!!!

PS Scuderi has been eh overall, Lovejoy has been worse.
