Bylsma says Johnson starts, Lieuwen recalled, McCabe reassigned to Rochester and will play for the Amerks tonight.

Good. After he had a pretty rough preseason, that's best for him.

Thanks. My guess is Murray won't make a move on another goalie till he gets results from Lenner's mri and knows the severity and how long he'll be out. Ankles are real tricky for a goaltender.

Yup. That's for sure. Though I guess at this point it could be better that it's an ankle and not his knee. From my seat the other night, it looked like it was a knee issue. I thought he tore his acl or something.

Yeah pretty much anything lower body is tough for a goalie to heal and get back to form. He'll probably still be dealing with the effects into 2016.

this guy likes the new sabre goal song

- homiedclown

Like this guy has ever heard of hip hop...

If it was a gangsta rap song then you might have a point.

I think you're being a little over dramatic over a goal song, a goal song that was voted on none the less. You're right hockey is s mostly white sport. However those people voted on a hip hop song. One that is getting pretty positive reviews everywhere in the media. You don't have to like it but like its been said the way it was cut makes it work.

I will also say as a 32 year old white male I have a huge variety of tastes in music. Everything from Sinatra to Sabbath. I grew up loving punk bands like Rancid, Social D and Bad Religion but I was never one of those people who let the music I listened to define what I was going to wear, how I was going to look and how I was going to act as a person.

I will say this much if you walk past a college hockey dressing room you'll mostly hear rap music.

I understand you're a traditionalist but unfortunately for hockey to survive there needs to be an infusion of non traditional hockey fans. This goal song is anything but traditional.

Everyone loved the goal song. Plus, it must annoy the hell out of the other team, which is a good thing.

It definitely wasn't my first pick. But after hearing it in person in the thick of things, it really does work.

I believe this song as the Players pick as well, so that has to say something.

I wonder if the building would have been as loud if it wasn't Eichel that scored.

It may have been a bit quieter, but it was pretty much as equally loud when Kane scored.

I anxiously await Murray to give away another 1st round pick for another goaltender that isn't even worth a 4th.
Johnson and the Sabres will get at least 5 hung on them today by Tampa and Murray will begin to panic like he did when he felt Lehner was a first round pick in a very deep draft.
Not trying to begin defecation, just keeping it real is all.
I really do hope that Murray helps me eat my words, I really do.
Because that only means, our team is doing better than we all had anticipated.
But right now, I have little faith in Murray.
He seems a bit like an infatuated little boy to me.
When he wants something, no matter what the price and the long term effects, he doesn't seem to care.
He proved that to me with Kane and Lehner.
He was infatuated with both players.
His reckless abandon has me concerned.
20 games in I think we can give a fair assessment of Murray's GM duties.
And i'll be more than welcome to eat some crow if need be.

I couldn't disagree more. That would be completely unfair. 20 games in you may see this team start to look more like the team he wants them to be, but you still have guys like Eichel and Reinhart that will be feeling their way through their first pro season. This is still a very young team and there's going to be growing pains. This team, in all reality, should probably finish somewhere in the 5-9 range from the bottom of the league this year.

Is there a ton of talent on it? Yes. But it's still a work in progress.

You didn't watch last year apparently. For the most part last year when the team scored, it was more like watching people at a golf tournament than it was a hockey game.

put it on tv more, that grows the sport

olympics come around, people are interested, then nbc may show an afternoon game

instead of showing 2-4 games a month, nbc should be showing 10 a month

the nbc sports network should be showing 15 games a week

and as for the music, it does bother a lot of people in the 40-60 year old price range, the ones buying the higher cost tickets

when I ran a retail business, the music had to be a selection that would not offend anyone, you'd be surprised to find out how many people walk out of businesses that play that music

and there is nothing wrong with the sabre dance

I totally get your point Goose.

I am more concerned with Murray having a panic attack over the goal tending situation and over paying once again.
The defense will be a bit better when Bogosian is back healthy.
I really feel that he is going to panic about what we have in between the pipes.
As I said, I hope he proves me wrong.

Did a guy in black rimmed glasses abuse you as a kid? Perhaps you should seek counseling, and stay off of the hockey boards. Your posts are getting stranger, and more delusional by the day.

I don't like that we gave up a 1st for him, but I'm also about 99% sure that we would have lost that 1st rounder in the O'Reilly trade had we not already dealt it for Lehner, so to me, it's kind of a moot point.

In terms of overpaying, the entire league knew that this team was going to be a force in a few years, so they didn't want to give us anything unless we were giving something substantial back. With the amount of picks/prospects that we accumulated over the years, something had to give somewhere as well. You can only have 50 guys under contract, so at some point, we would have started losing guys for nothing because we simply wouldn't have had a contract to offer.

Murray took that quantity and got quality now. That's not to say that any of the picks/players don't turn out how they're projected or better, but it's about moving an unknown for a known. Everyone always complained that Darcy was too conservative. Now everyone is complaining that Murray is aggressive. I know there's a happy medium, but the world isn't a perfect place. He's the one getting paid the big bucks to know this stuff, not us. So I will sit back and enjoy the season and hope that everything turns out the way he is gambling that it will.

It certainly serves his development better to be playing top pair minutes there than being the odd man out here more often than not.
