Between the 1st and 2nd period they did a small segment on Auston Matthews, that kid is going to be a stud in the NHL. As of now he's 6'1 and 195 and man can he score goals.

Well, if we naturally just suck this year not based on a tank job and somehow win the lottery then ROR becomes a winger or 3rd line center and Reinhart becomes trade bait for D. It's all good I guess.

Not a chance that ROR will be on the 3rd line.

I had to miss todays game so didn't see it. How did Eichel look? I'm thinking Reinhart is going to be sent to Rochester for a while if he doesn't start looking ready.

Whole team looked good in the 1st period but it got away from them after that, Eichel looked better on Thursday night. IMO it might take Reinhart a little longer.

Still can't score, terrible defense, goalie situation is a joke. Am I still smoking crack? Tim Murray ruined this rebuild. I hope you all are back on earth and dealing with reality now that you all can see just how bad this team still is. It sure doesn't seem like Kane and O'Reilly are the difference makers that so many of you say they are. The goalie certainly is not. I wish we had back every trade that Murray made. Keep calling me names, keep calling my a crack head... I am one of the few on here who actually deals with reality and thinks for myself. In three years when this team still sucks and Kane and O'Reilly and Lehner all fail to meet your expectations, and we can see what the players we gave up are doing it will be undeniable that Tim Murray ruined this rebuild. Lets go overpay on another trade for a goalie to replace Lehner!!! We still have a few prospects and picks that Murray can give away for a questionable goalie that no one wants.

I'm going to say this and it has nothing to do with color or people, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock and Rock have never gotten any respect in the music world you can tell by the sorry ass so called Rock and Roll Hall Of Shame and the Shammy Awards ( Grammy). It's ok for Rap artist to talk about killing, shooting, money and "thug life" in there music but if Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden or any other act mention Satan the whole music world flips out but it's ok to mention shooting people or stealing in the lyrics.

There are plenty of upbeat Metal or Rock songs, Enter Sandman and Rock and Roll all night just to name a few, I can go on but i'm sure folks will call me a racist and by no means is that true my point is, music today is giving off the wrong vibe to people now a days but in the 80's when with Metal music it was wrong and everyone had a problem with it but now it's ok with Rap music?

Some in the world in the music industry need to wake up and see the problems but money speaks louder then words I guess and it's a shame because some of these Rap acts have a chance to really change things because of how popular the music is but, they choose not to.

To be fair, people do tend to act like Kane and O'Reilly are superstars. I don't think this rebuild is ruined, and I think Eichel makes that feat impossible, but do you see a 7.5 mil $ player when you watch O'Reilly? Do you see someone worthy of anything near a 1st rounder in Lehner considering how good Talbot has looked?

Ok, "crack head" I haven't called you that yet but have you seen Kane play yet? Do you really miss Grigorenko, do you really think Zads is irreplaceable? JT Compher for cripes sake? Time to tone down the panic, but it's expected by some two games into the season.

I haven't watched a full regular season game by Lehner yet and I need to see O'Reilly play more in a Sabres uniform before the panic/disappointment sets in. Kane has looked top line power line skilled foward so far. 21st overall picks aren't the be all and end all, many bust so I don't get the glamorizing of that pick.

I'm not saying O'Reilly isn't very good, or Lehner can't be. But people seemed to have the attitude that we were all set, and we're just going to start scoring like crazy and compete for the playoffs. Like I said, we didn't add superstars (besides Eichel)

I guess I didn't expect that. I expected O'Reilly to be a solid two way player with some solid offensive abilities that a team wins with and I was willing to wait on Lehner to see how he played after he got some playing time after being out for a substantial amount of time. I guess I've seen so many high expectations to tone them down. I'm a realist and know that it takes time to win regularly after finishing 30th two years in a row and when you put a lot of knew players together knowing they don't usually gel right away. Not to mention this team's D needs to be better to be a contender.

I was wondering if he goes to Rochester when Gionta comes back.
He did assist on the only goal tonight. And frankly, no one looks great out there in the first two games of the season.
When skunk and D-low are the only point producess (albiet, against a team that went to the finals) theres other players that need to be addressed.
Wondering why we havent seen Kane/Eichel/Ennis yet.

This is a solid troll. You set a good tone with the opening sentence, covering multiple topics that will draw the ire of readers (9.5). Following it up with TM ruining the rebuild I felt could have waited for the finale. But still, that was an essential point (8.5). I thought you may have given yourself away with the Kane/ROR/Lehner rant, but you wisely put in the crackhead line before. That's a veteran move (9.7). Honestly, the only fault was not going after Eichel or Reinhart. That would have put your post into the top echelon. I grade this as a 9.2. The extra .2 awarded for doing this after the second game.

Solid.
Aren't additional points awarded for writing while under the influence?

I do think Reinhart is currently a tweeter...still a little light and slow on his skates for the big show, but has also showed glimpses of his hockey sense with savvy looks for passes in the open areas of the ice.
Yet, he does still get knocked off the puck rather easily and has a difficult time getting it back.
I still think more time in Rochester is best for him...but if he stays he has to get decent minutes on at least the 3rd line.

I think the decision to have Reinhart up fell somewhere between wanting to show him respect and because Eichel will be here by default. I don't think it's the right decision right now.
