Not too terrible of a move. Allows all 3 goalies to get AHL time instead of sending one to the ECHL

Was in my buddy's parent's basement last night who is a huge wings fan, and his dad has all these Toronto decorations. One being a picture of Gustavsson, which I used to make fun of because he was on the wings. Now being on the Bruins, I just have so many conflicting feelings...

Sweeney is brutal.

Sweeney is TBD. The Hamilton trade was yuck but he flipped Lucic into a very nice return.

i think the forward look a lot better than a year ago this time, goal tending should be an improvement as well. Its the defense that will be the big wild card, and of course injuries, but thats the same for all teams. Hard to say if they got better or worse, but if all they get is 96 points again, i'd be willing to bet they'll be playoff bound. Bit weird that a 96pt season wasnt' enough. Hopefully the schedule is Maple Leaf heavy to start, that'd be a good way to get their feet under them.

People keep saying the Bruins are bringing back essentially the same team as last year, except worse. I don't think they realize Krejci, Spooner, Pastrnak and Connolly played a combined 120ish games last year. I don't think they realize the 4th line was an absolute tire fire all last year and it's been vastly improved. I'm also eager to find out if Reilly Smith is actually an NHLer or just a product of saint Patrice. His advance stats are terrible without Bergy. Hayes has looked solid so far. Lucic was a ghost without Krejci and proved he NEEDS top linemates to produce. Jury's out on Belesky but I think he'll be good enough to replace Looch. I think this could be the best B's offense since the Savvy days.

I pointed out this same thing in another post... Ek's predictions said that Bruins had "everyone playing" last year, which couldn't be further from the truth. I went on to point out all the guys that will all play full time minutes this year, and how many games they played last year:

Chara - 63 games (missed 1/4 of the season)
McQuaid - 63 games (missed 1/4 of the season)
Krecji - 47 games (missed 1/2 of the season)
Pastrnak - 46 games (late addition, missed 1/2 of the season)
Kevan Miller - 41 games (led the Bruins in +/- missed 1/2 of the season)
Spooner - 29 games (late season call up who played well in NHL)
Connolly - 55 games (only 5 with the Bruins)

That's a pretty big disparity between "had everyone playing" and what they actually played. All of these guys will play a big role with the Bruins this season, and just based on the production from these guys alone, they can be 4 points better than last year.

Everyone seems to forget that like EVERYTHING went wrong last season and it took a miracle run by Ottawa for Boston to miss. I can't wait for tomorrow so we can stop speculating

I'd like to add that Hamilton missed the last ten games of the season. Not that that speaks to this year, but it speaks to a weaker D for that intense stretch.
