You two still at it over mediocre players? - LeafMan
kinda hard to classify a 64-point center as "mediocre" in this day and age |

but they never did forfeit that draft pick did they. - zazzle
Correct. That doesn't negate "draft pick forfeiture" from ever happening as a penalty though...
(They also did end up drafting at 30 instead of 11 which is pretty significant) |

You mean in the season Kadri was a point per game player and Reimer looked like an elite goalie? - Feeling Glucky?
exactly what does that have to do with anything?

Bozak is probably a 20-30 point player without other players to prop him up. Then there's his defensive ability.
Turris is so much better than Bozak it's not even worth talking about. |

The sens played pretty much the same style as the Leafs last season. Terrible possession team, just run and gun. |

It's an aberation of a season, with lots of players having uncharacteristic performances.
Turris, specifically, played in Europe for the first half, so he was already in mid-season form when the season started.

That is all I'm saying, it is going to take at least 5 years to bring a core of solid vets to stabilize this team, to make it safe. Without that this Detroit model of leaving them in the minors is doomed to fail. - LeafMan
Or we could just sign Stamkos. |

Not if you have Kyle Dubas at your draft table. |

He could turn that 30th OA into 20 3rd round picks which are actually equivalent in value to a top-5 pick. |

He could have made that #11 pick into THREE seconds instead of two though. |

If they settle, I still find it unfair that they will be completely free of any cap implications - ILoveLamp
How would this work? They agree to mutually terminate the contract? If so, how do the Kings pay him under the CBA?
Also, if the League and PA agree, I don't think other GMs get a say. There is no way that Gary wants this aired out in public. |

I thought this was interesting from the pre-season :
wonder if we ever see Hunwick and Marincin as a pairing at some point this season? as it stands now, it appears Hunwick is being paired with Phaneuf to try and lift Phaneuf's possession numbers. |

Actually Phaneuf will end up lowering Hunwick's possession numbers. |

Larger sample size
What's interesting is the Gardiner/Harrington pairing... largest sample size and very good performance |

I agree. Very very interesting. I need you to explain one part in more detail. That part is the whole thing because I don't understand. |

I don't really care either way. Teams always seem to get away with this crap.
NJ did the same thing too with Kovie. |
