Nylander being here today or three from now will make no difference without a solid core of veteran players that have been here for 5 years as a foundation. I'm telling you right now that this Detroit model that is dancing in the heads of Leafs fans will not take hold for the foreseeable future.
- LeafMan

exactly.. this season is about which vets are worth keeping before you subject the young guys to the BS this season is going to be

they will clean house at the deadline.. and then Nylander will get some time

dont put him through this.. you'd only (frank) with his mental side of the game

I think that's the idea though... to at least get rid of the worst habits of the team's veterans before exposing the young players to it.

I'd never dream of comparing an undrafted player like Martin St. Louis to a #1 overall pick like Stephan or Daigle!

Draft position means nothing when comparing what they're actually doing on the ice.

Turris's numbers are inflated by playing with a d-man who wins the Norris without ever visiting his own zone.

- Feeling Glucky?

and its offset by Boazak playing with a top 5 scorer

the same knocks you have on Turris you dont seem to apply to bozak

i would take turris over bozak any day of the week

who would you take? and be (frank)ing honest.

That is all I'm saying, it is going to take at least 5 years to bring a core of solid vets to stabilize this team, to make it safe. Without that this Detroit model of leaving them in the minors is doomed to fail.

seriously... watching and hoping for losses grinds you down as a fan

- senstroll

Doubt we're going to have to hope for losses... There'll be plenty.

Twenty five to thirty five points, closer to the 32 mark for him.

Good, amazing it took Babs one preseason to figure out what three coaches before him couldn't. Kadri on the top line.

That's what I'm saying!

They're both getting help from superior players, neither is very good.

I'd take Turris. Marginally better, younger, and contract is up sooner.

you need to clear out the garbage first

thats what this year is about

you clean up the mess before you start to renovate

after this year its different..babcock will know who is worth keeping and who isnt.. and its not going to be about production or skill it will be all about attitude.

so even if the core vets they keep arent the most skilled, at least they come to the rink to listen and work.. then you begin to augment the holes in the roster with your young skill guys

Bobby Mac hints at it but the main settlement is between the PA/MR and the Kings. That's just $$ so it's the easier part. Getting 29 GM's to agree to 'forgive' the Kings and give them more cap flexibility is going to be the bigger hurdle.

Given what I know/have read it looked to me like the PA had to feel good about this case so I'm not sure why the other GM's would give the Kings an inch of room on this one.

and they shouldn't either.

The bets were for 30. I think I'm ok as long as he doesn't get the bozakian flu.

Around there, I want to see them play Kadri as much as possible, it's his year to shine or be shipped out, that is what I think will happen. He will have a good year then they have to figure out what contract to give him, [email protected] if he succeeds.

You mean in the season Kadri was a point per game player and Reimer looked like an elite goalie?
