I think we're getting confused over semantics and we all agree.
Players still "learn" in the NHL, obviously. Systems, strategies, some positioning on particular situations etc...
But if a player isn't a top talent, already good enough and fast enough to play in the NHL, he should "develop" in the minors. Where can work on his game, his physique etc. - Pecafan Fan
That is why I lose it when I hear there is no teaching in the NHL. I really like doozie Bruce but he is wrong on this. |

But this has been the problem with the Leafs - especially with the forwards.
You get guys who will clearly never be grinders, but you call them up to the big club and put them on the 4th line so that they can "earn a promotion to the top two lines."
And then we wonder why they suck so bad, we declare them to be Busty McBusterson, and we trade them to other teams who aren't so appallingly stupid, where they resurrect their careers. |

With re-entry waivers gone, I think we see him next game to fill in for Lupul. - Feeling Glucky?
I'm not going to lie to you: I will be crying like a baby when I see the #19 retired, and that banner raised to the rafters.
Such a tragedy. So young. So incredibly handsome. |

No, I'm glad we got rid of that stiff.
Guy refused to fight, refused to throw body checks like a madman. He sucked.
I remember screaming for the Leafs to get his sorry ass off the fourth line and trade him for a bag of pucks. What they ever saw in that...
..oh wait....
.....damn. |

Professionals in any field continue learning constantly.
Sheldon O"queef is gonna teach them the system under no pressure.

Steen didn't fit the scenario Wedgie described.
In fact, I am trying to come up with one player who highly-touted, called up, put in a bottom-6 role, sucked, then traded then went on to have a significant career.
I can't come up with any, unless maybe Boyes or Tlusty... neither of which was a crushing loss. |

Actually there is a NHL game centre Addon that I believe you can put account details in.
Install dexter TV, I have seen all TSN and Sportsnet channels on it. |
