You need the 5 or 6th D to eat minutes, play tough, block shots and kill penalties. You can't have 6 puck movers with no physical element to their game, it will be too easy to play against, during a long season, they are valuable to save your top 4 for playoffs if you get there.

The first time my eldest daughter skated was on the ice at the ACC. She was so small I had to tape the double blades to her winter boots.

So after 10 minutes, my back is killing me. I prop her up on the boards at the bench to take a breather.

Some guy skates up, says hello to my daughter, and proceeds to take a sharpie pen and sign her jersey. She's wearing a blue one, so he signs it right in the middle of the white Leafs logo on the front.

I don't even know who the dude is until he turns around and I see it's Brendan Bell.

As we all should be. The only thing you really missed was some misdirected outrage from The President (apparently he really loves Panik), but that's par for the course.

edit: oh yeah and as Mark Mark reminded me, it wasn't only dropping Panik, but not picking up the 27 year old McBain who 0 of 30 NHL teams wanted on their roster.
