Not true.

He is "going down" officially so they can have their roster compliant today. LTIR kicks in tomorrow I believe, and when Robidas goes on it, then Harrington will be back

Just a transactional technicality. Bobby Mac warned about these today

- TheThrill

Mr. coffee (horton) is in the same spot with the LTIR

Yes, because if Shanny wants to divide the dressing room in a power struggle with Babcock, I'm sure he'd do it by first co-opting Harrington and Boyes.

Vancouver is a heckuva nice city, Beatle John. Maybe it's time you got over your inferiority complex and irrational hatred of Toronto.

It's not our fault your life sucks.

OK... settle.... it's Oct 6. My comment was about TO media... not about TML themselves. Breath..... breath....

I get that and I'm sure what the Jays are thinking. Sure, it's better to start 2-0, but either way you need to win 3 games, and in my opinion if you want that to be in the first 3 games, Richardey gives you the best chance of winning in the Rogersdome.

Still feels weird discussing these decisions in Oct.

for sure but hope they won 1st 2 then go from there. If he loses hope Estrada can take G4.

I think we can all agree that nothing would be a story if not for the media.

You guys got a good player in Corrado. I think most of my fan based was kinda shocked he hit waivers.

Think of Chris Tanev with slightly more upside when it comes to offence.

And still young and room to grow.

Dont fukk him up like you have the rest of your prospects

I kid I kid.

MR is one hell of a hockey player

- vancity787

He's not nearly as good as Tanev, unless you mean similar styles which I guess makes sense.

Had that been Babcock's response, it really would have been a non-story. Babs needs to get better with the media. His scowl of disapproval at everything is easily misinterpreted.

...because Panik is still on the roster until midnight tonight...
- Badge

Yes, so is Robidas

As of right now, Corrado is taking Harrington's roster spot

As of midnight, Harrington will take either Robidas (LTIR) or Panik's spot.

To the best of my understanding anyway.

The only point I'm making is that Harrington isn't really "demoted". Just on paper, and only till tomorrow

So...should I be happy that in the past 4 months we've added d-men that were at one time considered decent NHL prospects, all 23 and under:

Harrington
Marincin
Corrado....

or....

are they all busts?

I think it is an emotional connection that fans make between FC and Tanev only because they both came though the system... but as I said, by the end of year two, Tanev played 100+ games and 70 in his third, . FC has 28. There really is no easy way to compare the two on game play or style yet. FC's only upside, and not a small at that, is that he is 22.

Ian's hype aside, he did look like a potential top 4 guy during his first stint with the Canucks but after that season he's actually regressed. He's lost a step since adding 10 pounds as a pro and he's still not strong either. He overthinks too much now. I'd suggest TOR gets him to play at a lighter weight again and try to simplify his game. Otherwise there's a slim chance that he's a quality NHL dman.

Maybe there is the intangible that he is from TO. And yes, when he first came up, he was a rock star... but the Canucks were pretty bad at the time and I think everyone wanted to hitch their ride to a feel good story. His best games were his first ones... but those last ones against Calgary were terrible.... a liability. He was rushed into a spot he was not prepared for... not his fault I suppose.

The truth will be revealed in time. Anton Stralman was a bust x3 before he became a top pairing D on a contender.

I thought Harrington was steady in all the games he played, was one of the only D that was positionally sound. He is not afraid to go into the corners and fight for the puck. A good 5 or 6 D prospect.

It kind of feels like they are d-men versions of the Peter Hollands of the world. Really I do like this move. D is really where we have a lot of question marks...so the more the merrier.

Only in Leafland would we be obsessing over who gets the coveted 8th d-man spot.

You need the 5 or 6th D to eat minutes, play tough, block shots and kill penalties. You can't have 6 puck movers with no physical element to their game, it will be too easy to play against, during a long season, they are valuable to save your top 4 for playoffs if you get there.

FK Panik he's junk...Another example of over valuing bottom 6 player that are dime a dozen in this league...
Hope someone claims him so that can be done with..
