One Ref likes this, one thinks it's another example of the "stupidity that unites us all" (which is awfully close to being pretty insulting to the fan base).

I'm so confused. Team Dozzer or Team Leafman???

Then there's the "Leafs fans pay to much attention to 4th liners and 7th D-man" faction...how soon until I can get my Las Vegas kNights jersey? Or will those fans turn into cannibals too...so confused and the season hasn't even started yet.

the nucks didnt want to lose him

they just couldnt justify keeping him up

the leafs got a young prospect at the age of 22 for nothing.. absolutely nothing.

there is nothing stupid about the move. a free gamble at the cost of a journeyman bottom 6er

Kinda ironic.

But honestly, he's worth a shot for a bottom feeder. Nothing about him anymore suggests top 4 upside, but he could maybe become a decent bottom pairing defenseman.

The Bruno Magli back-foot clapper...that was confusing yesterday to say the least. Although I hear John Davidson is on the ice in his suit going post to post post practice all the time...

EDIT: Is it still a nice alliteration if 3/4 words are the same?

- Deeps27

God Bless Leafs Nation.

If Yzerman grabs a stick and jumps on the ice and effs around with the boys, nobody cares.

In Toronto, Shanny doing it is apparently indicative of something significant.

Not sure what it is, but we are all very certain it is significant.

You ever wonder if Masai Ujiri has ever grabbed a ball and thrown a few free throws at the end of a practice, just for yuks?

It's almost as if they are being patient with the young guys and want to build for the future. In my opinion i think there will be pain coming.

I just wish Shanny, Kyle, Lou and Mike had mentioned this at some point over the summer.

I thought they did,

And he has Shanahan that can teach him to shoot the puck wearing leather shoes.

Which is exactly the same story as Panik.

FFS, neither Panik nor Corinthian Leather are going to make any difference to this sinking ship of a team - why are we so worked up about this?

Obviously not, Panik was waived and we had other options...sadly they didn't like what they seen in him.

good news Babcock is going to teach Phaneuf how to skate!

Babcock & staff have identified issue w angles Phaneuf has been taking to puck / feet position in general; fixing that will go a long way

Look up my posts from the last two years, said the exact same thing, good luck to Babcock, hard to teach a player that has zero hockey IQ.

Off topic question that I should post in the Kings thread, except it's emptier than Bozak's 2nd leather Laz-y-boy in front of the X-box:

What's the status of Mike Richards?

Doesn't the league have to settle this - or at least put in some sorta temporary fix or at least statement regarding cap implications?

I've been fairly tongue in cheek on here today - but - I don't think it's a Leafs Nation issue having a problem with this one...team Pres. should not be on the ice in their suit giving players direction. Period. Richard Peddie was too hands on, but this is okay? If he has some notes, give them to the coaches to address. This was offside in my opinion.

EDIT: Also, think it was pretty clear he wasn't just "shooting free throws" - he was giving direction to players, which is not his job. He paid $50M+ for 8 years to someone to do this.

I love the media angle that believes Babcock will be able to transform every player on that roster.
