That would be great if we could have an exciting growth season but just fall short of making the playoffs and then hitting the lottery. I would love to see the Sabres send the first pick overall (Matthews) plus a package of players/prospects/picks to Arizona for OEL and their 1st round pick.

I went to Newfoundland over the weekend. The concept of fish cakes, salmon, and eggs never really appealed to me as a breakfast option, but they make it pass with flying colors up there.

I would love to take Matthews too, but then we have a major problem with having too many centers. And, having some move to wing is not always the best solution and the best use of their talent. If, we take Matthews then Samson or Zemgus should be shipped out to fill the glaring hole we made in our top defensive pairing when we traded Zadorov.

Maybe, the kid would be fine on the wing, who knows? I just look at as, it's really hard to find a franchise and 2c in this league and the Sabres would have: Eichel, Reinhart, Matthews, ROR, Girgensons, Ennis. That a lot of quality 1C & 2C. Some of these guys will obviously be playing the wings and some might even be playing the wings on the third line. It would just seem like a waste of talent especially when we desperately need another top pairing D-man.
