It will greatly reduce the number of drunk fools that leave surrounding counties and drive into Erie county to drink a couple extra hours. I feel bad for the businesses that will lose money, but the reasoning for why they want to change it is sound from a public safety perspective.

How many drinks do they really consume in that 2 extra hours ? Maybe 2 ?

I've had mine in for a week or so now. Might go back and make some changes though. Gotta make sure nobody got injured since I put it together.
- HonkFortheGoose

Same, put mine together on Friday I think, now I need to go back through it.

"The Tampa Bay Times' Joe Smith reported of recent speculation claiming the Tampa Bay Lightning had a deal in place following the 2015 NHL draft that would've sent center Steven Stamkos to the Buffalo Sabres. Another rumor had him heading to the Calgary Flames. In both, Stamkos reportedly refused to waive his no-movement clause."

I know this has been brought up but I still cant see any reason they are going to move Stammer. Also how in depth is a trade if the players no movement cause is brought up?

They have no power in the whole thing - if he doesn't sign there, they lose him for nothing. If they know negotiations aren't going well, they'll try to get something for him.

As for how in depth talks are, I'd think they're pretty far and the only thing left is to get the player to waive. I can't see asking a player first to waive and then working things out with the player (though there could be times where it's more of a general "who might you waive to go play for?" kind of talk with the player)

Because at this point it seems he will walk at the end of this season for nothing. As an organization, you can't allow that to happen and it seems that for whatever reason, he doesn't want to sign an extension.

Far enough along that they felt the deal presented was close enough that they needed to know if he'd waive.

It isn't the driving factor no matter what is said publicly as to why they want to change the law. It's something they've wanted to do for quite a few years now.

I knew it was going to happen but honestly felt that they'd do a 2 am Sunday-Thursday and 3am Friday-Saturday type change.

Sorry first part is came out wrong, I meant to say I'm convinced a deal will get done and he won't leave.

I guess, but calling to see what they're asking is a lot different than would players X,Y,Z work.

I would think if you've gotten to the point where you're asking the player to waive that you've already hammered everything out with the other GM.

And have exhausted all options as far as an extension is concerned.

Him and Kopitar are in the same boat, cap strapped teams that may need to reach the extension and then plan how everyone else fits around it. I guess i'll need to see it to believe it if either go

Could a package of Reinhart ++ have gotten it done? It would have been foolish to include Eichel.

My guess would be they get creative and move Brown or move Carter.

Being that I'm not a huge drinker, this doesn't really make any difference in my world either way. I do tend to stay out late Saturday's, but I'm usually home by 3 at the latest. I'm ready to head home from the bar by 2 more often than not. Very rarely am I ever out later than that.
