McDavid is a 82.
I read online that they are goign to make Eichel an 81.
I'm kinda mad that Reinhart is only a 74 though. That seems ridiculous to me. I mean Legwand is an f'n 83 which is just as good as Girgensons, Moulson, and Ennis I think. - JVince11
You know how this poop works. He's got like 8 years to grow in that game, sim 8 seasons he'll probably hit 88. |

Point is Gilmore needs to shut the (frank) up saying Odell Beckham is not that great it's just stupid
he probably the second best wide receiver in the game behind Julio Jones - gerbe75pts

I think Gionta staying captain for the remainder of his contract is important for our team. Someone is going to have to replace him as captain when he retires and that person is most likely going to stay captain for the rest of their tenure in Buffalo (it would be weird to change captains and suggest a failure in leadership i.e. San Jose). I believe this person to be Eichel. Basically you can't declare him the captain now (he isn't even on the team), but in 2 years I think he will be the unquestioned leader both on and off the ice |

But until Eichel, 18, officially hears the news from Bylsma, he’s operating like he must earn his spot. He still sported No. 41 today, a camp number he was given by the equipment staff. -Bill Hoppe |

After the season I wouldn't be surprised if he handed it to jack next year that's if he has a year to remember but I believe he will

I love Gus but he's not going to be the captain anymore maybe if they do that co-captain thing with drury and Briere |

Eichel wont be in NHL 16 until Friday, he has to play 1 career game before they can put him in the game, i hate not having him in right now |

There are a ton of possibilities for this. I think Eichel just has to be the captain after all we went through. As far as assistants I wonder who gets them. Could be a toss up between Girgs, ROR, Risto, Reinhart
edit: bogo too, but I don't think he should get one |

yea that roster update on Friday is going to be HUUUUGE. There are so many kids they will have to add and so many guys ratings will have to be adjusted.
legwand being an 83 and same as Girgensons is a complete joke. |

Really? I wouldn't have guessed that it had changed much.
If I remember right... even Stamkos didn't wear the C until after St Louis left. He was a bonafide legend for a few years already at that point too. |

That's my guess as to why we wait until Gionta leaves/retires (not saying Gionta and St. Louis are the same caliber, just that they are a respected veteran presence). |

I agree with all of this. Risto or Reinhart might be a struggle for 3rd A.
We have so many quality leaders/potential leaders in this system, it's amazing. Like I mentioned earlier, we used to bicker as to whether Pommer or Vanek needed the captaincy. That sucked.

I'm with Jr, I don't think Girgensons gets the C with all this talent now. O'Reilly and Eichel are front runners IMO, Girgensons and whoever loses out from those 2 are As |

That is not always how it goes. Look at LA and even Chicago. Kopitar is better than Brown and Kane is better than Toews.
It goes to whoever is the best leader on your team. I don't know if asking a then 20 year old Eichel is the best choice for that. Maybe he goes big time and is right...
but at this point... who knows. |

As much as I love Girgensons, I can't see him getting the captaincy of Eichel in 2 years |

mmmm... no. Talent is always a consideration, but it's the guy who displays the most on/off ice professionalism, important to the team on and off the ice and is always leading by example.
Why Ovi is the captain of the Caps is beyond me. |

Brown received the captaincy years ago and would not be the captain were they to name that position now. That is why it is a position that cannot be changed.
As for Toews, I'm not sure that is true at all. Toews is a MUCH more complete player than Kane and doesn't get in trouble on the side |

I agree about ROR too. i think that he is the "safe bet" that they would throw it onto if they didn't think that Eichel or Girgensons is ready.
Skill wise... Girgensons proved that he could play top line minutes and was our leading scorer last year too if I remember right. So its not like this is 1C vs 3C argument. |
