Sorry to be ignant (the ignorant way to say ignorant) but why not just waive White or VDV? Sure Porter got claimed but do one of those two players really make or break the season or the prospect pool? I would much rather lose one then L. Schenn for example. We have Cousins, Leier, etc. that could be brought up if needed.

Also, I have a hard time understanding how Manning and Gudas have outplayed AMAC. I know we give AMAC a hard time but mostly due to his salary to production. I am one of the most critical and even I would play him over those two. I am a little lost I guess.

Agreed. I would actually do something similar to the Hartnell deal as well and take a lesser player back for two years to get out of 5 of AMac.

Someone will take a long hard look at AMac at 4 million.

Agreed, the only thing I can think of is that Hakstol or Hextal feels that Manning & Gudas have the potential to grow into better Defensemen. Amac is pretty well formed and Schenn seems to have decided to play just well enough to be a 3rd pairing player versuses taking risks like he did in Toronto to try and be a top defensive d man.
