Yup, that's what I got out of it as well.
Like MHP says, goaltending is the great unknown on this team....hopefully, GMTM can find a guy...although I would like to see Lehner for 20 - 30 games 1st.
Now I wouldn't mind if they found a way to get another solid Dman...some solid stay at home to pair with Pysyk.

It will be interesting to see what some of the cap heavy teams do by Tuesday to get under it. Tampa Bay, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Philly and Chicago are over as of today.

Can someone help me out with the kodi app? i have it installed just trying to figure out how to get sabres/bills. I couldnt locate the slump buster post form several blogs back

If you're watching a lot of tv/sports using Kodi (if you've cut the cable or you're out of market) I HIGHLY recommend getting a device with kodi installed on it. Raspberry Pi, Vera, jailbroken apple tv, etc. I have 5 rasbperry pi's running kodi all around the house - it takes only minutes to install (very similar to the pc version) all controllable via my harmony remotes (or a cheapo usb remote, phone app, etc). If you connect your pc to your tv you can control kodi via a free phone app as well. Long story short..... there is another world beyond watching games on your laptop :-).

I've also got a couple of extra pi's that I'd be willing to part with.

I think the forwards will be better than 25th but I concede the difficulty in predicting them due to their youth.

The D and G predictions further enhance the thought that our D will be more of a problem then our G.

It was a toss up between Florida and Boston for 5th but I have a feeling the Bruins are gonna be better than people think.

Maybe, but their D took quite a hit this year...as well as their perceived toughness with Lou-Cheach gone. I think the Sabres will give them everything they can handle this year.

The forwards rank was interesting for me. Also think you could fiddle around with a lot of the younger players WAR but the overall projection seems about right to me. Maybe I'll take the train down to Zurich after all

Based on WAR projections:

1.Tampa Bay
2. Boston
3.Detroit
4.Ottawa
5.Montreal
6. Florida
7.Toronto
8.Buffalo

Edit: NVM just added florida and Boston. Looks like the numbers have us as the 2nd worst team (can't find the yotes but i imagine they're worse).

Well, that calls into question quite a bit.
No way Boston finishes 2nd, and the same for Buffalo finishing behind Toronto for last.

I don't think either is completely un realistic. Spooner and Pastrnak take a step forward and Rask steals a few games. Some of their new adds may have better WAR than originally thought.

Last in the atlantic could really go either way, especially when you factor in injuries.

Sure, anything is possible...but those are highly unlikely...IMO.

I don't think that's true. Unless they changed it for the last CBA. You can bury a contract in the minors; you still have to pay full freight, but it doesn't count against the cap. We did it with Kotalik the last time we had him when we picked up Regehr. Paid him $3 million or whatever, but it didn't count against the cap. It's just another way for cash rich teams like the Sabres to acquire the players they want.
- Wetbandit1

Teams can only bury a small amount of a contract in the AHL now, I think it's something like the league minimum + some amount of $. It basically works out to be around 950k you can bury in the AHL, so a 4M contract still costs a tad over 3M against the cap.

Yep, still raining, luckily I'm inland a little bit so I'm not wading inside my house like those close to the ocean are. Flood warnings are everywhere, Federal state of emerency for the entire state.

Not sure, haven't watched the news to see, and definitely not driving in to see. I know high tide has been pretty horrible for them.
