A nice heart warming tale of attempted murder there, thanks Bob!

I'm going to put the kiss of death on us & ask what Stamkos has done so far?

Is he suffering from poopting the bed last playoffs & his contract negotiations probably not going smoothly & him thinking he may be wearing a Leafs guernsey next year???

Is he a broken man?

Someone ragging on Lovejoy agian?? Man, Pens fans are like broken records.
- Zac_O

Well, he sucks. And the Pens are trying to prop him up as a legit NHL defenseman and someone with whom to build a team apparently. Very little separates Lovejoy from Scuderi. They are both slow liabilities in their own zone and very little to offer in the offensive zone.

And yes, I'm still pissed about the trade because I think Despres is going to be a top pairing stud as early as this season.

Just when you think the Pens are turning the corner in their way of thinking and they bring in / trade for old, slow players instead of young, fast players. Cullen is yet another example.

2.2 million and being completely useless vs some redeeming ability to play is a bit more than a little seperation.

This post is a massive overexageration. He's not a great fit in our system but he's fine as a bottom pairing guy. Much better than Scuderi anyways.

lovejoy isn't half as bad as people say he is. He is the kind of player that you only notice when he does bad. No one ever says anything when he does good. Which yes he does do good.

This is a piss poor evaluation of Lovejoy. He isn't slow and isnt bad at all in the offensive zone. Not everyone is Letang or Maata, Lovejoy is a 3rd pairing dman on every team in the league.
You're just making a big deal of this because he got walked around by Drouin, which proves you have no idea who Drouin is.

Everyone needs to calm down, if a player isnt a number one dman it doesnt mean they suck.

To be fair it was a bad play by Lovejoy, but to be even more fair it was a much better play by Druin than it was bad on Lovejoy.
- Victoro311

Backhand to forehand is a standard NHL play. Lovejoy looked completely befuddled and out of position as he often does.

Special players like Druin have the ability to do very subtle things with their hands, stick, and eyes that fool the pants off of the opposition that don't show up on TV.

No, I've watched almost every game since Lovejoy came here and he is a defensive liability with no offense to offset his sub-par defensive abilities.

I think people forget that Lovejoy was a very capable top 4 on the Ducks. He's not near as bad some around here make him out to be and he is most definitely better than Scuderi.

It's amazing. But also sad because in Matt Murray I see the end of the Fleury era.
- Victoro311

not sad... its a business. if murray has potential to be the man, then $5.75M could/ should be flipped for assets. if Pens can get the same, if not even better production, for less money, then that's (eventually) a no-brainer. the question remains...will murray be ready by the time #29s contract expires?

So, i get home and turn-on the game, and the first glimpse of Pens 15/16 hockey I get to see is lovejoy getting embarrassed by druoin. maybe the "A' on his sweater is for amateur? the blueline is going to be a science-fair project. i know its preseason, but does anyone (on D) know how to throw a check? i'm not asking for scott stevens, just a glimpse of basic physicality. i hope GMJR has something brewing...

Here's how to beat the Pens:

1. Run their star players and in general bully them because they will just lay down and take it.

2. If you have last line change (or even if you don't), send out your top line against the Pens 3rd pairing and scoring goals will be like shooting fish in a barrel.

3. Rinse, repeat.

Going into the season with this defensive corps is pitiful. Not to mention the lack of toughness (I don't care what the Blackhawks and Lightning did without an enforcer) and with the plethora of old and/or injury-prone players, this season is setting up for another huge disappointment.

They've been on the PK the WHOLE game!!! Really highlights how useless Sestito is when the other team has no goon for him to look for. He's played 2 shifts all night.

But he wasn't capable - he was a -4 on one of the best and highest scoring teams in the league. They were all too eager to get rid of him. I can't imagine the looks on their faces when Despres was offered up or agreed to. Must have been like Christmas morning.

Well obviously. Even if its a good decision that's a no brainer. I'll still be sad seeing Flower not in a Pens jersey. It'll be like not bringing Martin back but on steroids. No brainer, but still hate to see him go.

I think you hit the big red button!

Who the (frank) gave YOU permission to hit the big red button??

Sit the (frank) down & get away from the BIG RED BUTTON. (frank)!

The D is a WIP. We are in for a ride no doubt, but it's not s bad as you say, I also think once these guys get confident then they will start hitting more.

Shouldn't every team send their top line out against the other teams third pairing? They don't take getting bullied either they always over react, they never act like little female doges though and Sesito is tough and completely useless tonight.
