Fleury was definitely not the reason the Penguins lost to the Rangers in 5, I guarantee you that. It was probably mostly due to the lack of production from the number 1 center duo of the Metro division. - jimbro83
That's not what he was talking about. You a deflecting so hardcore. Like I said I wish I had popcorn. It'd be nice to have snack while watching a troll flop around saying random things. |

Anyone have a better streaming site for tonight's game? First row was awful and had a non closable ad for me for some reason. |

From what I understand, it was gonna be bad regardless of where you streamed it from. |

In response to the ongoing debate:
Let me preface everything by saying the Stepan and Brassard are very good centers and have preformed well during the playoffs. Kudos to them.
That being said, they are very good and nothing more. They are not stars in this league. Tavares is a tried and true star. While Strome might not be a star and while Stepan and Brassard may currently be better than Strome, Tavares pulls that duo up above the NYR duo. Also when you consider Strome's ceiling, I'd take the NYI duo over the NYR duo both now and moving forward.
Same concept applies to CBJ to a lesser degree. Johansson may not be a full blown star like Tavares but I believe he is still currently better than both NYR centers and will be a full blown star in the near future to boot. I'd say that both NYR centers are better than Dubynski but I think you guys are under rating Dubynski's two way shut down game. CBJ and NYR may be close to tied for the present but I'd definitely rather have CBJ's duo moving forward with Johansson's rise. |

Backstrom and Giroux are very good on the PP. Though in Backstrom's case, having Ovechkin makes a huge difference. - jfkst1
This is from a while back, but I firmly believe these are the best two special teams players in the game. PP and Pk, both are elite. |

I did give instructions on how to close that in the thread before the last game... but no, its the best you can find, and it will suck no matter what. |

Yeah, he made some 9/11 jokes over on the Rags' board and was told to take his business elsewhere. |

I would take every player listed in the blog over coots, even the Devils players and j. Staal.
Funny how beating a broken, two line penguin team is equated to success in this league. The canes and Devils also had success last year vs the Penguins....guess they won the same cup the rags and flyers recieved |

Saying that about Couts is irresponsible. He's a good shut down center with the potential to become elite if he figures out his offensive game. |

Coots actually gives up more shots and scoring chances against the pens top lines than he generates, so he gets worked over. The flyers have won though so you do have that, but Coots as a cult hero for shutting down the best offensive players in the league is rather overplayed. |

I think a lot of that 'cult hero' thing comes from that playoff series (I believe he was a rookie) where he went up against Malkin and did a pretty good job defending him. The thing is, Couts is just 22...he should continue to get better, stronger, harder to play against. And if he can find his offensive touch, that'll be pretty sweet...for Flyers fans. |

Irresponsible? Really? A good shutdown center doesn't make you a top 2 on any good team. He also has the potential to be average offensively his entire career.
Irresponsible lmao. Irresponsible is confusing potential vs reality. |

I think Couturier is just as likely to stay relatively static offensively as he is to make a dramatic improvement. Jordan Staal never made any massive jumps in offensive developments to his game and he started in a similar manner; by being a good defensive 3C. Player development is very unpredictable in that regard. |

I'm not saying he's elite or anything. Just saying that the sweeping claim that you'd take anyone on the list over him is hyperbole at best. In the present he's definitely better than anyone NJ is rolling out and moving forward he definitely has a solid chance of being a better option than the Staal brother or Dubynski depending on how Couts develops and how they decline. |
