Well EK. The advertising choices are getting weirder.

Nothing will ever top "real virgin hair". I can't believe I never screencapped that.

Okay hooligans, have to head out.
Just some thoughts from that 1st.
Giroux, Voracek and Raffl all look good. Have to give credit to Umberger, he does look faster out there.
Provorov looks to be playing it simple but had that nice play where he moved down low to keep the play alive.
Medvedev is a good skater, seems alright at handling the puck. Scary in his own end. |

Medvedev wouldn't surprise me if he ends up on our top pair at some point. His instincts are solid, his skating is solid, he's got size, and he is very poised in both zones. I thought he's looked fine in his own zone. Had a few puck hops on him but he crisis controlled it fine. Goal was 100% not his fault. He was covering two men in front of the net on a defensive miscue by someone else -- he let the guy take the shot. He couldn't take the shooter and it wasn't even that great a shot Neuvirth let in. So I'm not sure where the criticism is coming in.... |

Umby looks like a different player. His skating is light years from what it was last year. He's winning and working board battles, generating offense. Hell, maybe he could be 3LW. You have to root for the guy to be a contributor.
Provorov has looked great at gap control and getting his stick in position for the poke checks. Passing is simple and precise. He jumped up one time on a great read when G(?) came up high. G scared him a bit with some really close blue line saucers at one point haha. He does that a lot, and you have to be ready. Even Streit took some getting used to with some of G's dangerous blue line passes. Bit a little too hard to one side on a rush at one point, but he got stronger with each shift.
Konecny. Wow. In limited time he's all over doing everything. |
