I just don't really get why they got rid of ties. You already had OT. They wanted to make the game more exciting and instead ruined it, in my opinion. Now they are trying to cut back on it. Should have just found another way to tweak OT to begin with. I would be fine with ties, especially if they went to 3 on 3 OT originally. There would be a lot less of them and we wouldn't win or lose games in a skills competition.

Ha! From what I read, maybe Hakstol's system will help him. Mobility is something I think we all can agree he has, and perhaps how the defensemen are expected to play will bring out his best

Isn't 3v3 tweaking OT? Personally, I can't stand games (any sport) that end in a tie. They are only a step above sports that are decided by judges.
