Prospects, picks and cap room.

Absolutely not. Any trade would have to involve, in part, someone that is top 6 forward or top 4 dman. Or both if there's a market for him (and I believe there would be if not charged).

that definitely seems sensible, I wonder if other agree. The Hawks look pretty good despite purging their roster after cup wins... they're a lock to make the playoffs with or without Kane IMO.

Its insanity. Pure insanity.

If absolved, trade Kane for prospects and picks? In "win now mode"? In the midst of a dynasty that he is the co-face of?

Are. You. (frank)ing. Serious?

I would seriously come down with some very harsh criticism towards our front office if that happened.

That's not reasonable or realistic. That's like trading Sharp for a 2015 first and a top prospect and a roster player. Freeing up the cap space and getting a top prospect (2 if lucky) and a nice draft pick would go a long way towards putting the cap mess and the unreasonable risk he creates behind the Hawks. Remember "calculated decisions."

I expect it to happen on very very good air tight information. I also expect a lot of the fan base to have the same reaction you just had.

After today's presser...

...wouldn't surprise me if Seabs contemplates relocating.

What a mess of a press conference....

Wish the link would have kept going to show the questions of the other 3 after he left.

Of course, you could remove 2/3 or more of the link due to redundancy.

This was a PR failure for the Hawks. Patrick Kane shouldn't be addressing the media, shouldn't be opening himself for these questions, and shouldn't be making these types of statements.

Honesty, why put themselves in this position? Keith, Seabrook, and Toews should have started the whole thing. Seabrook drops the nugget about his contract. Kane comes in and reads a statement and leaves. Kruger, Shaw, and Crawford come in to discuss the upcoming season. Kruger talks about his upcoming season, Shaw jokes with the media, and Crawford shows he has a personality.

Come on now..

Who knows why the press conference started late and to why McD looked upset at the press conference. Maybe McD wanted to give Kane a pep talk and it backfired and Kane's agent/lawyer said a few things back to McD and reminded of his NMC in his contract. I'm sure McD wants to get rid of Kane from a marketing stand point. However, it appears the hockey gurus inside the Hawks organization want to keep Kane, since he's a corner stone of the franchise along with Toews who played a significant part in making this dynasty.

There is no real good way of getting around the Kane issue wether it was first, middle or last in the press conference. The three ring media circus came to ND looking to report misery on Kane.

Watch the local news they always start the news by reporting a crime, a shooting, a robbery…. I can't remember the last time the news started on a positive story.

Rob they're going to use the Seabs signing as the big spin to distract from the Kane trainwreck...its already up on CSN.com that the Hawks and Seabs are close to a deal...and Seabs was named the alternate officially today. Think happy thoughts.

Have to admit I loved see McD squirm in that presser today and seeing the smoke coming out of his ears when the Buffalo reporter referred to him as tone deaf regarding the situation. The man that loves to control the message down to the last detail and he couldn't do a darn thing.

This was it the beat guys actually asked real questions (for once) even though the Hawks mediator told them not to by saying we're only going to answer hockey questions... and were repelled by Kane over and over and over...as well as the others.

Should be a fun weekend and more questions will be coming from the media for sure...

Well i cant compete with that. I hope you're wrong. Its the wrong decision, it would take a few years to recover(and develop the assets acquired) and i believe we have a few precious years left with Hossa and Keith both being elite. Already have plenty of young talent that is blossoming/going to blossom.

Is it the wrong decision if his presence kills the locker room and rots the precious years left you have with those elite players?

Is it the wrong decision if people inside the locker room asked him to change his behavior several times and he didn't?

Is it the wrong decision if his own teammates think they're better off without him despite his elite hockey skills?

These are all very important questions when analyzing the return WHEN he's gone.

I think Kanes smirk was more of a reaction to Potash's question, are you going to quit drinking, like damn that was bold, I'm sure he's hearing the same thing internally

Kane isn't going anywhere...especially if the Hawks want any chance to repeat

Not sure what people expected of the press conference. They had to get the angry/disappointed faces and talk out to start. There will be more the next few weeks...but slowly die down once he gets cleared of this.

The Hawks "punishment" to him will be no PR stuff - no face of the franchise, no billboards or posters. There will be more Toews and more Keith. Kane will continue to be paid by the Hawks to play hockey and win games, but they'll stop the promoting of him to the fan base for a long time

And in the end, who cares. The only thing that matters is what he or any player does on the ice. If he's guilty - go to jail. If not, who cares

Well you're going to be greatly disappointed when this doesn't happen, none of his teammates thinks he's guilty they think he's stupid and naive but ultimately they'll give him so much poop for putting himself in that position
