When the player who loses a fight goes to the penalty box, that's the best feature in any hockey game.

NHL should eliminate the shoot-out. After OT if the game is still tied the drop a tiny sized Octagon at center ice and the captain of each team has to fight to decide the winner.

I don't have a modern console, so I'm stuck with modding NHL99.
Since EA has a monopoly on NHL games, they are destined to suck, since zero competition exists.

Definitely one of my favorite parts of that game.

I could never understand what the hell they were saying when you made a pass. "Hit the pass" always sounded like "Hack the bone"

So far really good, but my only gripe is the poke check seems too effective. It's easy for someone who's not very skilled to spam poke check and the puck always ends up in their possession.

No I'm with him on that. Quality shots, possessing the puck exponentially more than the opponent, and you lose with 5 seconds left on the opponents 10th shot of the game... on a weak shot none the less. Last year's online play was a (frank)ing joke. If this year's is anything like last year, I'll never buy another one from this franchise and I've owned every single game

On another note, cdoes anyone know can you have guests play on online vs? Like can I have a buddy play with me versus someone else online? They took that off last year and that pissed me off too.
