I was out when the lottery was going on. I checked my phone probably 30 minutes after it happened and saw the Leafs won the lottery and I had to double check because I didn't believe it. I let out an audible "holy (frank)".

The Flyers will never win a lottery because they'd never fully embrace a tank-even a 30 game, end-of-season tank. They'll consistently overdraft their slot and end up with a solid, but unspectacular player, which will allow them to consistently be one of the top 10-15 teams, but never the best.

I don't even understand the Flyers. When I look at the team on paper they look pretty good. Solid young dmen, what should be a couple elite forwards, and quite a bit of forward depth on top of that.

Giroux got old, their best defensemen is 20, their goaltending was awful this year, their "depth" is overrated and their coach isn't very good.

Their problem has always been that they don't have an elite defenseman to rely on in the playoffs for 30+ minutes each night.

Hard to win a cup without that guy. You can win a cup with average goaltending.
