I see that the conversation is mostly on Lehner but is their anybody out there who is kind of interested on seeing Johnson play? The guy has had nothing but chit talked about him since being traded to us and has yet to put on the jersey. I would love for this kid to show something this year.

Well for starters, he's 29. so at this point what you see is what you get and most of what's been seen is he's not very good.

Waste of a roster spot for a future Sabre that's needs to play, unreal they signed this POS.
- SABRES 89

a focused Kaleta would be fine to plug on the sabres 4th line come playoff time, if they make it

I am fine with him spending the year in rochester

honestly, his numbers were fine when he was with the rangers and bruins

I guess it's a case of we need to see what he brings

I never thought lindback would do so great when the sabres got him

I didn't realize he was that old but with these numbers I wouldn't call him Mika Noronen either.

2013-14 GAA 2.10 Sav% .925
2014-15 GAA 3.08 Sav% .889

In other words he looks good on a really good team, like a lot of goalies. Not really much there to get excited about.

2009-10 the rangers missed the playoffs

johnson had a 2.35 gaa .919 save %

yeah it was only for 5 games, but still it was better then silver

He has no business taking a roster spot from any player we have now on this roster, enough with the past already.

Captain Wet Blanket haven't you heard?

Getting psyched/hyped about a guy like Lehner or Busthart is one thing, but Chad (frank)ing Johnson? Gimme a break.

I'm just saying that over the past two-three seasons we've seen a lot of low-end goalies come our way who have managed to put up some pretty decent numbers on this crap team. Sure, Irbe had a lot to do with that, but I'm betting that Johnson probably has a real chip on his shoulder after what was said about him at the trade deadline. I would not be surprised if he has a good season with us.

They played a lot of park the bus/collapsing style hockey under nolan, may have affected the save % of the goalies. Bylsma's known for playing it fast and loose with his D-men so I'm not really sure what to expect. I can't bring myself to expect too much from either of them knowing that they'll be working with an obvious disadvantage.

Just put up three litres of the Schnappies.

Clementine: Svedka is trying this now, and last weekend I had some really good drinks with lemonade and the Svedka, so I grated up a bunch of clementines and put a schnapps together by modifying a recipe for orange schnapps. It should be ready around October 20.

Cinnamon: A classic. Also ready October 20.

Blackberry: Grandma used to keep this around as a cure-all. If you had the runs, blackberry schnapps. The sniffles: blackberry schnapps. Bad cough or sore throat: blackberry schapps. This one is a long cook: won't be good until the end of December, at least. I'll probably give it til the middle of January.

Pretty fired up.

Agreed. But with the team as a whole I think team chemistry will be the real question mark on this season. On paper I would put this new roster some where in the middle of the east, but they could fall easily back to the bottom, or even possibly be a fluke surprise like Colorado did in 2013-14 if they get the chemistry right.
