All three Bruins first round picks, Zach Senyshyn, Jake DeBrusk and Jakub Zboril, failed the conditioning test today at start of rookie camp

- Vukota

Three teenagers couldn't pass Whiteside's conditioning test. I'm not shocked.

Optimistic view: if they're that good in bad shape, imagine em after whitesides gets a hold of them!

But seriously, don't think this means anything. Bennet couldn't do pull ups, RNH couldn't bench press. I bet Pasta didn't amaze in fitness testing.

That's a manageable cap hit, but if they weren't willing to put that money down on Franson, then it tells me they're confident in the young guys, and want that cap space open to make a move later on. I can live with that... I just hope they're right about the young guys!

To me it makes more sense to go into the season with what we've got now... get some games under their belt and figure out what they've got and where they could use help, and then use that money in the middle of the season to add someone to fill that gap. Haters gunna hate, but I've got my fingers crossed for Big Buf

I'm glad they didn't sign him. I've stated a million times that we have all these kids and need to play them and we only have TWO spots open at the most for around a half dozen kids.

In my opinion, the "smart choice" would have been to sign a guy like Franson instead of McQuaid.

Franson for 2 yrs at a $3.3 per cap hit > McQuaid for 4 yrs at a $2.75.

The reasons why one is better should be obvious and I don't care to go over why. Bs management seem confident though, so who knows.

Your posts make me want to smash my screen. You've got to be the most depressing Bruins fan alive. All these "facts" and reasons we will suck are getting old real quick. Suck lemons much?

Im not sure if he ever experienced a truly bad B's team cause if he did he would realize the current crew isn't THAT bad

You can say that now but at the beginning of the off season people would have said you were high if you suggested Franson would go that cheap.

Agree. 100% it's a steal.

But, you would likely be dying of an overdose if you said that McQuaid would be resigning for 4 yrs at $2.75.

That is just a fan's opinion. Don't see why making that statement is somehow "crazy" outside the norm. I would bet that many NHL fans would agree.

umm no. i don't care about your personal life, just saying, if i were to guess, you're a young guy.

that has nothing to do with opposing opinions, but you do seem to overdo how bad this team is right now when it really isn't that bad.

I mean, I'm only 22 but I remember growing up thinking the B's like weren't allowed to win the cup or something. I also remember being beside myself when they'd actually make the playoffs. Now people are pissed because they aren't a shoe in to be a top team lol

I really don't think McQuaid is overpaid. Whether or not he should be in Boston is surly up for debate, but I'm comfortable with that cap hit

How bad or good they are?

I've said they are a 7-11 seed in the East.
And that they will finish around 15th in the NHL in both GA & GF.

That's not bad. That's just mediocre or average. That's just like most of the Bs teams I've watched over the 32 years on this earth.

I'm not scared this team is bad! I'm scared that they are "normal" and being normal doesn't get you top ten picks and "franchise" players unless you get lucky on a Bergy or Datz........which is more difficult.

7-11 is totally pessimistic. 4-10 is pretty realistic to me, and I still say a team with Bergy, Krejci, Chara and Rask can hang with ANYONE in a 7 game series.

Cheers! I say a lot of sarcastic things on here, most of which shouldnt really be taken seriously (because thats sarcasm folks). But I appreciate those of you who come on here, and even those who dont post but are true bruins fans no matter what the team looks like.

From a level headed view for a second......I agree with you about is cap hit and I love him as a player!

But wasn't the same thing said about Kelly and Seidenberg and Pevs........?

One of the arguments for Chi Pet going was the vets getting "market value" when we should have allowed the kids to step in.

I would have rather they didn't sign any D men other than Irwin at this point. We have all these kids we need to play!

AVERAGE and "repeated mistakes" are what scares me this this team.

At least you got to see some greats! Sadly, my only real memory of Bourque was watching him win the cup with the Avs.

In 20 years I'll get to tell all the youngins about Bergy. Chara TT and the big bad bruins haha
