I think they need Ganger on Coots left wing then assuming Read doesn't blow up offensively.

A few combinations to play with for sure. I was thinking more about getting a playmaker (Gagner) paired up with Simmonds, since he and Laughton are more NS skaters.

In regards to the top line, I think the sum of the parts (Giroux/Voracek) is more productive than whatever they'll produce being split up. And Raffl compliments them perfectly so I don't see a need to tinker with that line as of yet.

I don't think Laughton's a particularly N-S skater. I did before I saw him play, but he has some definite finesse to his game and doesn't play a strictly power-forward style. I'm not saying he's Datsyuk or anything, but he's not Mike Richards v3.0/Sean Couturier v2.0.

I think I'd like to see Giroux and Voracek split up. You might be right, but I don't think we have enough evidence to know for sure.

I don't think he's strictly a NS, dump and chase player either. Didn't mean to label him as that. I completely hate the comparison since it's so overused but he does remind me of a young Mike Richards with possibly a tad more finesse. I just do remember Laughton trying of few shifty moves last year that prob worked in junior and maybe the AHL, but resulted in him being crushed and even concussed as we know.

I personally think one of the biggest strengths of Laughton's game is his N/S skating and the pace he plays the game at. The game is based on the forecheck, and puck pressure, and he is good at that. The playmaking and scoring will hopefully develop.

I don't think we have enough evidence either. Splitting them up if given time may end of being more beneficial. Not sure we'll find out.

Furthermore on my point...having two top lines does sounds great on paper. But this is the year though that Couturier and Schenn specifically need to take that next step providing secondary scoring. Couturier's only issue is being more assertive IMO. If he has Voracek on his wing, he may instinctively want to give up the puck to the more confident Voracek. Whereas we know he has the tools and skills. He needs to be the one to create and make plays. As much as Voracek would help his point totals, I don't think it'd help his growth into an impact player.

Could we please shift the conversation to more important matters like Giroux's fashion shoot? Does this make him more or less of a leader? Would you have preferred a little more color to his ensemble? And, lastly, is G mutating into Howard Eskin?

I'm not in favor of breaking up G and Jake. Kids on lines two and three need to start taking the next step, not be carried by a superstar.

Thing I like about laughton, is like you said, he tried some shifty moves and quite a few times he blew right past defenders. And also again like you said he did get crushed multiple times. I love the fact that he's trying those moves though.

Yeah I was going from the movie not the series.

Talk about a tough blueline with the MacLeods back there
Sort of like Bob Dailey and Pronger .....

Hey is anyone thinking about going to Toronto in 2016 for the World Cup?
I did 1991 and 2004 as road trips and the wanderlust is there again

Stay at the Fairmount Royal York, walk to the HHOF and ACC for the games.

Really. It looked to me that every junior dangle in his repertoire failed. He was miscast last year IMO being expected to provide second line scoring. He needs to simplify his game which he's capable of IMO

Well, he took his head in a movie...not THE movie, but one of them ("End Game", maybe). But aside from the first one, they were all pretty bad.

I'd stay away from the 2016 World Cup. Honestly, the "Young Guns" and "Mixed Bag of Europe" teams kinda cheapened it, to me.

If the Flyers expected him to provide second-line production with 0 NHL experience (not counting his tryouts), they were seriously delusional. Playing him on the third line to start would be best for his chances at success.
