So i'm bored...

Odds Makarov gets 10 starts this season?

- feetontheair22

close to 0. He'd need a really strong first half in the AHL to have a chance.

if that's the case its super unlikely...considering the D prospects we have down there are not anything to write home about (with the exception of McCabe)

Right, but he didn't necessarily have to do it so quickly and on those specific players. That's not to say they can't be good or even great but still something that gives me pause.
- Sabresfan-365

I'd rather he got another goalie. Maybe he pushed the panic button a bit and was impatient on some of the moves but he might have had to sell Bylsma on what he was doing.

I'm not a big football fan but I think the idea is to go forward, not backward.

I guess he didn't fare too well on that play.

Looks that way to me, invest a 1st rounder in a high risk goalie without putting together a competent defence?

Bylsma hiring just felt like one big overreaction to missing out on Babcock.

Pro tip to you guys/gals that sometimes pretend cholesterol doesn't exist.

Steak hoagie + pizza logs + loaded fries will seriously (frank) you up.

My stomach is an iron dungeon, but even I'm hurtin' from that adventure last night. My wife wasn't so lucky.

On another note, Devlin's Deuce (The Deuce) has surprisingly good food.

Had fingers and scirochi/lime wings from Griffon Gastropub last night. Having the leftovers for lunch today. Just opened one on transit and klein rd.

I agree, in fact i find myself wondering if he did too much too soon. I'll give him this though, he's done a pretty good job in attempting to prevent this team from developing a losing culture.
- Sabresfan-365

In some ways, I agree with the too much thing, but if you're going to overhaul it, it may be better to just "rip the band aid off" so to speak then do it a little at a time. The losing culture thing I think is probably why it's better that way.

Look at Edmonton, they've essentially done it the complete opposite way. Yes, they've accumulated 4 1st overall picks, but they've been mired at the bottom for close to a decade now.

I got my cholesterol checked this week, saw the doc. Mine is at 218 but I'm running the risk of diabetes at the moment. Sucks getting old.
- mhp

Had mine checked about 2 weeks ago. Everything was fine. Somehow I'm the oldest of my group of friends, but seem to be the most healthy of the bunch.

Good genes probably have a lot to do with that. Gram just passed a few months ago just shy of her 91st birthday.

EDIT: Mine's 174.

Thats what I am hoping for as well...i think Makarov has the potential to be decent...wanna see him get some reps with the Sabres
- feetontheair22

Out of all the goalies at Development Camp, Makarov looked the worst. His movements were nowhere near as smooth as the other 3 and he seemed to really be struggling. They didn't say anything, but it seemed like he was battling through some sort of injury.

I would rather do the Lack deal, go get a good LD ( not Cowen) and I think the D would have been competent. Carlo is a stop gap and Gorges could easily get hurt again. Maybe his insurance was signing Donovan.

The D is awful and Lehner isn't gonna be the answer. We'll see.

Yes.

I hope Murray is right about Lehner. Not sold just yet. But I'm wrong more than I'm right.

Was 173 last year.

Now if I could get my vitamin D up to an acceptable level so I'm not exhausted all the time, I'll be all set.

If you look at Anderson's stats last year, they're not so hot either. And once teams had some tape on Hammond, he also looked pretty ordinary. I think the Ottawa team in front of them just wasn't really all that great.

We've seen Lehner be lights out for them before. Just gotta hope he can get back to that.

Unlikely we'll get the answer to that this year. There will be a lot of debate as to whether it's his fault or the D's fault.

181 last fall. Haven't changed beers or my work ethic so should still be good.

Good point. Injuries and development of the kids (Pysyk, Risto) will be key to the D this year. I'd guess that if Lehner stays healthy he'll post numbers around 2.75 and .915 this year.

Doesn't get mentioned enough but i think top 6 RW is a problem as well. A lot of projected lines have that slot filled by Ennis and a centre moving over (Girgs, Reinhart). I assume they'll want to move them back to the middle at some point, and as much as i like him im not really sold on Ennis as top line RW.

Justin Williams would have been a nice pick up. I'm ok with Ennis there, maybe Girgs but I prefer Reinhart at C.

What will our future top 6 look like?

None of those are really top line options though right? That's what has me worried. Obviously less so than the defence but still.
