Lying on an application is a fireable offense no matter how much of a mundane detail it is.
- dadeadhead

Yea i get that, a little weird that it was even on there and they didn't bother checking it out.

Yes several times.

He and Howard Simon used to joke about it every so often back in the 05/06 and 06/07 seasons.

It is a fireable offense, but you may or may not be shocked at how many companies find out about people that lie on their resumes, and just don't care. If they get in and do the job well enough, they will often let it go, simply because it's more expensive to fire that guy and replace him than keep a guy who is good at what he does.

It's often used/saved as a catalyst when they are looking for a reason to fire someone.

Agreed but it is still a reason to let someone go.

He/she lied about this and is now untrustworthy.

Simple solution is to not lie.

I'm not saying it's right by any means, just that it may not affect him at all.

He's a public figure of sorts. People are going to ride him hard about this. It could serve as a huge distraction.

Take this FWIW, but a friend of mine who knows someone involved in the Kane situation said that as of this past week the woman has turned down an extremely large amount of money and has every intention to try to convict him. Sounds like this might drag on for a while.

Yes.

You'd think someone who was good enough to get invited to that camp would have been drafted by an NHL team and/or have more info on the internet Hockeydb.

My cousin who played 11 college hockey games for Ohio State is listed on there along with his time with the Miami Valley Sabres.

Yet Paul Hamilton who was inducted into the Iowa State Cyclones Ring of Honor only has this on his search.

I can not find any other stats on the interweb of his hockey career

Sooooo if that were true, wouldn't you file a criminal complaint and have him arrested and charged?

Who says she hasn't? The authorities still have to be the ones to grant the complaint.

From the few things I've heard is that the evidence/stories are still iffy on both sides and the fear is it won't be enough to convict so they are pushing for an out of court settlement to happen.

It wouldn't surprise me, but my point is that just because someone files charges doesn't automatically lead to instant arrest. Life would be chaos if it worked that way.

For the record we shouldn't even continue this dogpoop conversation. Kane has been hashed over and ruins threads.

What kind of Wings is everyone ordering tonight for the Bills PS game?

None, I've had wings four days straight. Time to take a break.

Just based on the fact that it's been about a month since the news of this first broke, I'm not surprised. If it was really that cut and dry, he'd have been arrested already or the case would have been completely dismissed.

I've said it 1000x already, the majority of these types of cases aren't very cut and dry which is why so many people don't say/do anything about it when it happens to them.

Unless someone else physically saw the entire encounter from beginning to end, everything is he said/she said for the most part.
