Mex has told everyone repeatedly he is former NorthStar draftee (he said in a post he was taken right after Jerome Dupont was selected by the Blackhawks in 1980 in posts...talked about his injury and trade to Boston...)
He told us he was then the assistant to the guy President Clinton appointed to be in charge of the Kennedy assassination i believe it was.

His handle has a January 25, 2012 intro to buzz date, but just hasn't really been posting until the last seven months, but you could say the same forme not becoming a regular until later when I thought I met a good group of posters here...)
His avatar is a photo of Brad Palmer, off a hockey card.
So I guess from day one, we weren't being asked to be on the down low about his identity. We are outright being told.

(I never thought about using a picture of myself as my avatar but JJ does, and he's not that pretty...)

I don't know about that business of forgeting when you started playing pro hockey; I know the exact date I started teaching, the exact classroom, etc. when you start a new adventure of a career, you are both intimidated and expansive in your memories because it is all so new.

Is there a slim chance that someone set up an account, found an old hockey card, made sure their first posts involved accounts and life descritions that might get the blog posters ferreting around to solve the puzzle and get lead to the fact that they are a former player, with deeper insight, and firmer grasp of the way NHL clubs/things work, and a perspective that we all would have trouble questioning, because we can't say we know so & so, or that things are done this way not that way.
(JUST LIKE THE FACT THE PERSON WHO JUST ASKED the QUESTION, signed up TODAY.)
So I guess, we can take things as they are, or we each can let each other submit questions to be answered to prove Al Cimaglia is the guy from the radio, I am the guy from the prospects website, and JJ is...well, JJ.

I have taken a vacation from the site because personally I can be part of anymore debate on Kaner, not until there is some true deliberation.
and don't care what StLBravesFan Stjam, 6628, ArlingtonRob, TrueGrit, or MexicoHawk
think on the present because it soon will morph into reality...with legal movement f some sort in the Buffalo area.

It is a sad state...too close to the real world that I come here to avoid.

I know the trades of Raanta and Nilsoon are not big moves. But with goalies more then anything else you have to play them and see how they do. What they can do in practice is not the same as a game. Its like a closer in baseball. Somebody can have great stuff but just does no have the head as a Closer. Raanta and Nilsson (protypically size) showed enough last year where their had to be some teams that thought they could grow into starting goalies.
- kmw4631

Yeah, I am sorry, that's were we disagree. Raanta lost his job because he did, and I never EVER thought he could win a stupid shoot out. Nilsson came back for a big league shot, not to laungish in the aHL, that was why he left in the first place.

How many solid starting goalies are playing 15-20? that leaves 15-10 that are searching for one. If we traded either haggerty or Liam now what could we even get a 7th rounder? I feel like Raanta and nilsson should have brought back 3/4 round quality.
- kmw4631

if the COULD have, they WOULD have.

If we traded Tanner Kero for a 25 year old 6-5 goalie that came off great season in the KHL would you say Bowman did well?

- kmw4631
I guess that would depend upon if I was gonna use that goaler as a NHL pro.

What about Luke Johnson for a 2nd year 26 year old goalie that put up .935 in 20 games last year at $750K. that is basically what we did.

- kmw4631

I don't think the Hawks are trading a college prospect for a possible pro backup unless there system is as desperate as the Rangers and Oilers are to improve there - the Rangers are plugging the Cam Talbot spot after doing well from letting him go. i didn't see the Rangers backpeddling with a resign there---you move on when there seems to be overlapping Cap fits.

Believe me not trying to go after you on this...but it is like sweating the small stuff. These moves don't make the team better or worse. Maybe what they did was provide two possible Cap relief forwards down the pike...or maybe not.

These type deals do intrigue me; the hawks know they want get something for the two players...did the Hawks GM have a firm grasp of both the Oiler & Ranger farmhands/prospect before they start talking?
or...Did he offer up his players with a "what will yah give me?", and each of the teams said this guy and the Hawks just said, yes, or was there a counteroffer, "how about this guy?"

They could bring the felony charges against him if he were prepared to accept some kind of plea deal, thus avoiding the grand jury process. Just one example.

I am fairly certain the cap space relief would come into play after the season begins...But this doesn't happen very often and Bettman has this rulebook in his pocket.

If so, then the can't use the Kane space to sign Kruger until October 7 - and he would miss camp - unless he could sign a PTO as an RFA.

"This young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and the country's refusal to accept him, I guess that's more than most 21 year olds can handle. Number 6 Ogie Oglethorpe"

Seems like you can relate to Voynov and Kane

I was confused by that too. Then I ran across this: http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8450133. It reports that Brad Palmer played three games in 1980-81 for "Minnesota North Stars-DN-Cup," getting 0 points and 2 penalty minutes. The DN cup was a 4-team tournament played Sweden in late September 1980 featuring the Capitals, the North Stars, and two Swedish teams. (See http://www.greatesthockey...nhl-overseas-history.html.)

So, if Mex is Palmer, then it's probably just a wonky memory of the DN Cup.

No offense to anyone, especially Mex, but why does everyone care so much about who he is? I might suggest that a poster being an ex-nhl player and having ties to current people in the league doesn't make what they post gospel, infallible, or whatever term you want to use or even more important than what another poster has to say.

I pledge to use my own discernment and logic when reading other posters comments to help modify and form my own rationales and opinions and to elicit responses. I plan to let my actual experience with the poster and their actual posts impact my thoughts on their post a lot more than who they are.

But what do I know? Maybe too many pucks to the goalie mask here.

Someone should start a Traverse City game -

Predict the best forward, best defenseman, and best goalie for the tournament and predict the winning team.

As I explained, clearly I thought, it was simply an attempt to clarify posted information that is inconsistent with facts. That's all. It is not a question of "care so much".

I agree. Everyone who posts here has their own perspective. If guys were close to or in the show they might have a better look at some things close to them or behind the play or behind the scenes, but the guys at home watching tv have the benefit of replay and a better general over all view of things, not to mention announcers pointing things out. I have learned things about the game from people with a different perspective constantly over the years here. And I totally agree about about letting actual experience with another poster be your guide and not just figure that someone close to the action automatically knows more.

This subject aside-So u know the way it has been for years-
You can post pretty much what you want hockey wise and can question anyone about anything at anytime-Just don't let it get personal or insultive. Which you did neither.

....And in case anyone is wondering I am who I say I am, not that anyone else would ever be interested in being me.

I think the Grand Jury calling the young lady to testify suggests this Kane thing is as serious as some have alleged. Does not prove guilt or innocence, but definitely suggests this will go on for a while and Kane will likely not start the season with the Hawks.

Serious in terms of how much time it will take or serious in the sense that he's in trouble? My gut says the DA will subpoena as many witnesses as humanly possible in order to get an indictment.
