Stan traded him to Dallas for Loser Daley

I'm gonna give Bowman the benefit of the doubt on that one, time will tell though

I like the versatile scoring rat, but I think we need a franchise defensive prospect who takes over as Keith and Seabrook age.
- DMChi2010

Sure, but how many of those guys are really out there? Nurse? Jones? Reinhart? Ekblad? Nobody is parting with guys like that, there is a distinct dearth of defensive promise, and certainly none on the market.

Franzen discussing his concussion as well

http://www.hockeybuzz.com...ecovery-process/216/70732

I fear this is going to only get a lot more common regardless of what the NHL says the trends or stats are showing.

The sad fact is, the more concussions you have, the more difficult it becomes to recover from. However, I would argue it's the enforcers who never get concussions who are in a worse spot. The sheer number of subconcussive blows they take without giving the brain any time to recover will markedly contribute to CTE in their later years (or even now).

Unfortunately, I have more experience with this than I would like but luckily nothing as bad as some.

I give Stan the benefit of the doubt most of the time, but I gave a hard time hopping on board with that trade. I hope it works out, but I'm extremely skeptical.

Roster with Patrick Kane still a Blackhawk

Dano-Toews-Hossa
Panarin-Anisimov-Kane
Garbutt-Teravainen-Tikhonov
Desi-Kruger-Shaw

Keith-Seabrook
Hjalmarsson-Daley
TVR-Rundblad
Gustafsson

Potential roster With Patrick Kane traded

Dano-Toews-Hossa
Panarin-E.Stall-Teravainen
Skinner-Anisimov-Tikhonov
Desi-Kruger-Shaw
Garbutt

Keith-Seabrook
Hjalmarsson- H. Fleury
Daley-TVR
Rundblad

So yes the Blackhawks CAN improve with Patrick Kane being traded avay, obviously the trade was just made up but I wouldn't be surprised if we get some good players back if we trade Kane +.

P.S.: Not saying that it is a good idea to trade him, it might be best to keep him

I'm a goalie...of course I have cojones, march to the beat of my own drummer, am a bit off mentally, etc.

Any team that wins the Cup deserves credit for their achievement if them doing so makes me want to puke.

One last time about Patrick Kane. No one except for the principals and authorities in BUF know what has happened and what is coming down the pipe, and even they don't know for certain. On Monday another witness came forward with evidence that impugned Kane's character/behaviour and the BUF authorities are obligated to explore where this info leads...taking up more valuable time to the Chicago Blackhawks organization, who haven't done ANYTHING to warrant the situation they find themselves in. From what I was told, the BUF DA office was going to offer Kane yesterday a "plea bargain" to a misdemeanour so that the authorities could rap things up, now they have to wait because of this new information and then re-evaluate.
- MexicoHawk

This triggered questions that have been nagging at me for a while - 1) did any of the incidents in the intervening years since 2012 that were ostensibly swept under the rug involve behavior similar to or related to the current accusations against Kane? (not expecting anyone to have this answer), but 2) if they did, could the BH or NHL have any legal liability in an eventual civil suit (IF it can be shown they participated in burying the story(ies))? Normally, I'd say no employer would/should be liable for an employee's behavior outside of work, but when you include a behavioral condition in the contract, does that mean when the players are off ice, they are still on the "job?" (any legal eagles on here?)

Admit I've been fearful that another shoe would drop in the form of other accusers coming forward, since I believe that IF he has this in him to do, don't believe this would realistically be the only time something similar has happened. Hence the thoughts above. . .

Found this blog/board while searching for updates and have found it to be the most rational and insightful discussion anywhere. So, kudos and thank you to JJ and all.

So I answer a thread on face book claiming Kaner is a spoiled brat of priviledge will issues and if Gretzky can be traded why cant our little alcoholic be traded. The post was deleted and I was dropped from the from the group....my my these sensative kaner sycophats wouldnt last 5 seconds on this board

Its pretty shocking but not surprising at the same time. People usually tend to drive to one extreme or another. Keeping conversations open and civil even if you don't agree with someone or are just voicing a devils advocate to make conversation or add some depth shouldn't be such a circus.

Most of the discourse here is pretty civil by the internet's standards even though there can be a broad range of opinions.

Assuming Staal regains his form and goes back to being a PPG player then probably. Very formidable up the middle.

The key is really how good are Panarin and Dano in the spring and what steps does TT take.

Could be a rough year or it could be a pleasant surprise.

Under normal circumstances this would be a pretty exciting pre-season camp.

Kane would also have to waive his NTC to go to Carolina...

What were the proposed trades suggested I take it with Boston or Carolina?

This is all gonna settle down but as stated either way the Hawks will be just fine, smart hockey people running the show with a firm team president that commands respect and expects results.

I know the point you're making is that the Hawks would still be a very good team without Kane providing they get good return on the trade. But, Staal and Skinner make a combined $13M+ so for it to work Cap wise for the Hawks the Canes would have to take on Bickell and Versteeg too. The trade would have to be something like Staal, Skinner and their best d-prospect for Kane, Bickell and Vesteeg.

Is what it is Ogi. Maybe could have should have got a better deal but in the end Sharp had to go. No point in crying over Johns right now. Might end up a great D-man and also may just be a average Joe. Hawks return was not horrible. Wish it had been better. Was also figuring the Hawks would just have to dump Sharp for nothing. So we shall see.

I find it more than just a tad bit amusing that many of the people advocating the trade of Patrick Kane, are the same people who found it unfathomable that The Hawks could ever get enough in return to justify trading Patrick Sharp 1-2 years ago.

"How could they possibly replace Sharp's scoring?"

I guess replacing Kane is not nearly as big of a problem
