There is no doubt in my mind that he has the tools to be a top 4 NHL Dman. The only question is can he make a smooth adjustment to the NHL game.

Does anyone think Provorov or Sanheim get a 9 game tryout this year?

I don't think so, unless they SEVERELY outplay some vets. They currently have 7 NHL "vets" plus Manning, Morin, and Ghost as their top-10 pros.

I suppose the depressing thing is that Medvedev doesn't even have to be all that great to crack the top-4 as it currently stands -- but hopefully he'll play well enough to help us forget about Jiri Dopita.

If he truly comes in and plays to what everyone thinks he can do (top-4), you would imagine that he could get us at least a 2nd rounder, maybe even a 1st. At last deadline, people were paying a fortune for defense.

That's to say at the deadline we are in the same place as we were last year (or worse).
