kind of like putting Baby in a corner, you don't bench Cam Neely. - Fountain-San
who was the second guy benched that game? I can remember someone sitting next to him with the same disgusted look on his face. Was it Oates?
EDIT: It was Stevens. |

Stevens was not a great add for the B's. However that's one of the most bush league moves by a coach period. |

Who will be the surprise player of the year? (in a good way) - dothedougie
I'm anxious to watch a few guys this year... Patrnak, Beleskey, Spooner, and Hayes should be interesting... but I'm with Conway on Brett Connolly... I have high hopes for that dude. I'm hoping he's our diamond in the rough this season. |

Stevens was never the same after he went face-first unconscious into the ice on Pittsburgh. |

the mike Sullivan era wasn't much better.
thins went to poop immediately after they moved into to the "fleet center". - Fountain-San
The Mike Sullivan Era was garbage too. But atleast he'd flip his lid behind the bench every now and then. Dave Lewis had zero emotion at all times. But hey, they were both as bad at coaching as our team was at playing hockey, so they fit right in |

The best part of playing NHL 2005 was probably watching Sullivan's beautiful face as it showed him shout behind the bench.
Now on a serious note, (because although I loved reading all these other posts about arguing how good they will be as usual, I'm wondering) is it possible that Boston has a "third line" of Erik Spoon Pasta and they all hit 50-60 points playing bottom matchups the whole year? Or do other teams catch on and spread their shutdown players out across Boston's three lines, which is turn gives the other 2 lines more opportunities to play worse oppositions. I'd be willing to bet a line of Erik spoon pasta could outscore a Belesky Krejci Connolly or Marchand Bergeron Hayes line. Those combinations kind of seem like each line has a defensive presence, size presence, young and/or new to the team presence, and scoring presence.
Funny to think about, only 4 of our top 9 (and 5 players out of the whole forward core) have played a full season in Boston. |
