So again not disputing kessel skill and talent here, tell me why did Toronto trade him, considering what we gave up to get him and what we got for him PLUS retaining salary. So why stop at kessel? Granted you need a dance partner to trade with. I'm sure JVR could have fetched us some decent picks...and yes I know I could still happen. Or why hasn't Phaneuf been traded? Apprently were not opposed to taking lesser talent and retaining salary since hey, we are in a teardown, we announced it didn't you hear? Detroit was apparently willing to take him. Enter Babcock, and he hasn't been moved...and whether it's yet will remain to be seen.

Or better yet, why not build the team around kessel? Why wouldn't Babcock want to get a chance to coach or have on his team a winger of the caliber of Kessel?
