overall off the top of my head who should be a head of him
Bennett domi paranin zacha nylader overall

Thinking who will be around the best talent around

Bennett will be top 6 easily with good talent
Domi may get a crack at top 3
Paranin may be top line if Kane gets a suspension either way top 6 on a godo line
Zacha will get every shot at top line mins
Nylander should be at the top as well.

if I go though each team Im sure ill pull out a ton more

Easy money is on McDavid, I don't think Eichel will put up nearly enough points this first year. With both your asking teams that have not scored many goals the last decade to all over a sudden become Mullet Jaromr jagr

Tie goes to the Canadian anyways so he'd have to put up one heck of a rookie year to have a real shot.

off the top of my head don't recall if he won or not lol, team should be good

Zacha I just think will get every chance at top line mins top pp etc more so the position hell be put in then skill

Yea NJ is pretty bare, i love what the sabres have done for their top 6 this season. It will make eichel work to get those top line minutes and possibly create better matchups for him no matter where he is in the lineup.

That said eichel should start out getting top PP minutes IMO, and i wouldnt count him out for calder if he scores enough and the team wins alot with him being the main reason for it. The advanced stats for eichel on ice vs off ice for BU was really ridiculous.

i'm with you, hubie...just wanted to get eichel's name in the conversation...key for him, imo, is a strong second half...the general consensus is that he'll be the top-line center mid-season...and, don't forget, he's got some serious powerplay acumen

I feel like with Eichel im asking a lot of him and asking for his line mates to out play what they have done historically. Where with Bennett hes around top caliber players

just like what if Goldobin becomes the 2rw and plays with Marleau and Couture those two can have their a years Goldobin would have a nice point total

I dont see toronto battling it out for last place. They still have a good amount of talent with young players possibly ready to make an impact. We will find out just how good babcock is if he can coach that team up as well.

NJ, arizona and carolina would be my bets. Toronto will purge at the deadline with all those 1 year deals, but to be at the bottom they will need to struggle all year and i dont see it with babcock at the helm.

I think kane is a bonafide top line winger and oreilly is a bonafide top-sixer...

not denying the talent on the Flames, but imp Calgary caught a lot of teams by surprise last season

No but that team wont quit this season like they did last season.

They arent making any runs to the playoffs or anything, but it takes a considerably bad season to finish at the bottom.

We did it twice and their roster does not compare to either of ours to get to the bottom.

and at the same time their worst defender.

Babcock and a bounce back year from bernier could keep them out of that conversation.

goaltending is bottom of the league
unproven scoring
I don't see it its built for 2017 and beyond not for this year

I dont think its enough, as much poop as phaneuf takes from leaf fans he is a pretty good hockey player, and should be better with a coach that will install some defensive structure to that team.

They have other good players on forward too, many more than the sabres had last season.

I don't foresee anyone on the roster scoring over 25 goals
I think Lupol is as good as done hes junk
Left with JVR to do most of the work Kadari I don't trust
Bozak and Nylander will be interesting

Kadri, JVR, bozak, lupul

Thats some decent proven scoring right there. Parentaue is an underrated signing for them if they let him play a scoring role. Arcobello scored 20 on arizona last season.

Not to mention the young players they have ready to make an impact like kapenen and maybe even nylander this season

edit: woops LOL idk where i got arcobello scoring 20 for the yotes from, but he did score 17 bouncing around all season

We had only one player hit 20, and no one else was even close.

Girgensons might have hit 20 without his injury.

I think they have too much, including a really good coach to finish dead last. Good thing for them is they have 3 shots to get a top 3 pick.

I never said that we would have someone score a bunch of goals.

Only one id bet on is Kane to get around 30

I was speaking about the leafs roster this year, comparing it to our roster last season.

And why i dont think the leafs are a lock for a top 3 pick

For me its not so much about who they are jumping. That team last season flat out quit on the coaches, the fans, and themselves. With babcock behind the bench his reputation alone shouldnt allow that to happen again.

Pretty much that roster plus kessel was somewhere near the top of the league last season as late as december if i recall correctly..

I dont forsee them being in the playoffs even, but leaf fans seem to think they are a lock for the bottom 5 and i dont see it.
